Chapter 55

ALEXIS' POV

"Ran...Randall?" I stammer his name and blink at him repeatedly as if my eyes are not seeing things correctly. Why does it seem as if the ghosts of my past is catching up with me?

"Is this your stall?" He asks, feigning oblivion at how surprised I look at his presence. His eyes scan the stall behind me and I quickly look back to see if Aurora is standing there and I confirm she is. But this time, she only watches on from a corner and doesn't jump in to save my ass.

"Yes." I face him again and answer but I immediately shake my head and correct myself. "I mean, no. It's Aurora parents.'"

I hear him stifle back a laugh at how confusing my answers come off as. He then licks his slightly chapped lips and says;

"Right." Then, he gives me a long analysing stare before adding again. "Can we talk now?"

"Uh..." I glance around me again and my eyes land on Aurora again, who immediately pretends to busy herself with dusting the shelves and hangers as soon as our eyes meet.
