Samantha's Pov

Someone knocked on my door as I was drying my hair the next morning. My heart began to race for a moment as I remembered Rick's filthy words.

I clenched the towel, trying to bring my racing heart under control as I looked around for anything I could use a weapon.

Another knock.

I grabbed the bowl I used to put my fruits in yesterday, it wasn't much but I could buy myself some minutes if I bashed it against his skull. I hid it behind my back and went to the door.

Taking in a deep breath, I pulled the door open and revealed Killain's worried face.

“Killain…” I gushed out, feeling both relieved and stupid. Why didn't I pay attention to the scent?

“Good morning Samantha. How was your night's rest?”

“Very good,” I wasn't plagued with nightmares as I thought I would. “I feel refreshed this morning.”

“That's good to hear,” he smiled. “May I come in? I brought breakfast.”

Suddenly, I noticed the mouth watering scent coming from the covered tray he held.
