In It Now

I woke up to the sound of the large door being opened. I struggle to open my eyes to the shadowy figure standing above me. It had been two days since I ate or drank anything as punishment. I was told the night I came back in. Remembering the sweet smell of outside and the freedom of the grass between my toes as I tried to conjure the memory that seemed so distant now. I squinted at the youngest Logue, or should I say, Snow, member with a tray of food in her hands and a look of disappointment and disgust plastered on her face.

"Here, my Aunt Irma thought it was time for you to eat," she thrust the silver platter in my direction as I struggled to sit up. As a werewolf, we have to consume more than humans. More calorie intake, more protein, more fiber, everything, and to go without any food for two days was hard, really hard. "Eggs over easy, bacon, grits, sausage biscuits, and toast."

"That won't be enough." I gurgled out as I took the plate and placed it by my feet.
