Rylee's POV:

I quickly glanced away from Beta Fabian, who was deep in conversation with Benita Jackson, Alpha Malakai's new secretary. When Beta Fabian noticed me, he excused himself from Benita's desk, and I couldn't help but wonder what was going on between them.

He walked toward me, calling my name, "Rylee Martin."

"Yes, Sir," I replied, turning to face him. His yellow eyes glared at me coldly.

"What are you doing here?" Beta Fabian asked. I internally gritted my teeth, knowing he despised me.

"I came to clean Alpha Malakai's office," I said.

"Leave," Beta Fabian snapped, "and you are banned from cleaning this tenth floor."

"Huh?" I raised my head, shocked. How could he tell me to leave when I needed to finish my job to get my full salary, especially with Supervisor Saul's inspection looming? Gritting my teeth, I blurted out, "I want to resign."

Beta Fabian's brows furrowed. We stood close, him in front of me, near the guest chairs.
