I sat there staring at him for a few moments, unsure of what to say if anything as Dez collected himself to continue. 

“Your father took me in when they died during one of the attacks to pose as your brother,” Dez’s voice paused again for a moment, “I was the only son his Beta had, and he knew that you would need me.”
