ALARIC’S POV
I was in the packhouse office when Wyatt strolled in, why he wasn’t with Brianna I wasn’t sure, but he better not have left her alone with Dez again. He grabbed a stack of papers from my desk and sat at his, getting straight into it. I didn’t want to distract him from finally helping but I had to know.
“Is Xander with her?” I asked him but he seemed to ignore me.
“Of course he is,” he scoffed after a minute, and I assumed he was grumpy because they wanted time alone or something. He didn’t exactly have any patience when it came to not getting what he wanted and after our interaction last night, I wasn’t about to push the subject.

ALARIC'S POV CON'T I mind-linked my mom to bring up multiple bags of ice, as well as some kind of juice or fruit in case I could get her to eat something later. She was screaming as loud as she could for my brothers, and her voice was slowly breaking my heart. She was in so much pain and all she wanted was them. I wanted her to want me like that, to need me.
