I woke up to a very stiff Alaric as every part of me ached and I felt like I could hardly breathe again. I could hear the water running in the bathroom and a small knock on the door, when Alaric went to answer it, the pain got worse, so much worse. He was quick to close the door, quickly scooping me up from the bed and taking me to the tub he had filled up with cold water and was now dumping bags of ice into. 

He lowered us into it, still in our underwear, so that he was sitting behind me. We sat in the cold water in a comfortable silence as I tried to think about anything other than how he felt pressed behind me and what I could feel against my back.
