LOGINLevi held Kaliyah firmly as he leapt out the window in one smooth motion, his body moving like she weighed nothing at all.
The wind rushed past them as they soared down, and then he landed gracefully, like a shadow falling from the sky. His feet touched the pavement with barely a sound, and he was still carrying her… princess style. Kaliyah clung to his neck tightly, her arms locked around him in instinctual fear. Her heart was thudding in her chest from the sudden movement. "What…what are you doing?" she gasped, looking up at him, still in his arms. "I'm taking you with me," he said in a low, steady voice. “Somewhere safe.” Kaliyah ’s eyes widened. “But… Don…And Kate is knocking at the door. She's going to realize I’m not there. I’ll get into trouble!” She was already panicking, her voice breaking slightly as she squirmed in his hold. Levi tightened his grip and pressed her closer to his chest, as if shielding her from the chaos they’d left behind. “I’m not leaving you in there with those people my love.” She opened her mouth to speak again, but the sound of Kate’s voice still shouting from the house sent a chill down her spine. The banging on the door hadn't stopped. Then Levi looked down at her again, his eyes glowing slightly under the moonlight. “I’ll protect you.” Her breath hitched. “But… where are we going?” Levi didn’t answer right away. He just turned and started walking down the dark path between the trees, carrying her like she was the most fragile thing he’d ever touched. “I found my precious mate after so long,” Levi murmured, voice low but full of fire, “and you think I’ll leave you here for one more minute? Especially after seeing how they treat you?” Kaliyah ’s eyes widened. She opened her mouth, unsure if she should argue or ask a thousand questions but before she could get a single word out, Levi leaned in close and whispered, “Hang on tight.” And then, he moved, with so much speed. The speed was unreal. Air whipped past her face like a storm that she couldn’t keep her eyes open. Everything around them blurred, the trees, shadows, moonlight streaking through the woods. Her grip tightened around his neck, It felt like they were flying. It felt like being stolen away by something dangerous and safe all at once. Meanwhile, back in the room, Don finally groaned and pulled himself up from the cold floor, his face swollen and sore. He stumbled to the door, twisting the lock with trembling fingers. Kate burst in almost immediately. Her eyes fell on his face, it was bruised, swollen and red, her brows furrowed in shock and growing anger. “What the hell happened to you?” “It was… Kaliyah.” Don winced, holding the side of his face. Kate blinked. “Kaliyah did this to you?” “No,” he snapped, clearly offended by the suggestion. “Her boyfriend or something. Some guy. He… he came in, and…” Don held his head again, still in a daze. “He took her and jumped out the damn window with her like it was nothing.” Kate froze. “What?” She asked slowly, like her brain needed a moment to believe the words. “You mean… you were in here, and some random man came into this house, took Kaliyah, and jumped out the window?” Don nodded, his face twisting with humiliation. “He was… he was immensely strong, he gave me one blow and I swear, it almost knocked me out. And I don’t even think he used his full strength.” Kate stepped back, her face pale now, her thoughts racing. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. *** The wind stung Kaliyah’s cheeks as Levi moved with inhuman speed, the world around her was a blur of shadows and trees. Her arms tightened around his neck, holding on for dear life. “Am I too fast for you?” he asked, his voice low and oddly calm despite the rush of motion. Kaliyah could barely nod, her eyes squeezed shut from the wind. He slowed instantly, and she felt the sharp shift from a wild sprint to a graceful jog, and then finally, to a full stop. “We’re already here,” he said softly. She blinked her eyes open to see that they were at the edge of the forest, the same one that led into the Werewolf Territory. The same forest where they had met just hours ago. Levi didn’t stop. He walked forward, still carrying her in his arms. Her heart pounded faster, now out of confusion, not fear. She looked up at him, eyes wide. “Where… where are you taking me?” He glanced down at her. “Home,” he said simply. She stilled. “Home?” Then her voice sharpened. “Your home? You mean… werewolves? You’re taking me to where the werewolves live?” Panic bloomed in her chest. She wriggled against him, slipping from his arms. Levi didn’t resist, he gently let her down. But the moment her feet touched the forest floor, a cold wave rolled over her. Her body already missed the heat of his touch. How was that even possible? She wrapped her arms around herself, shivering slightly. Levi stepped toward her, before his hands gently encircled her waist and pulled her against him again. “You don’t have to be scared,” he murmured, his voice softer now, coaxing her. “I’m taking you somewhere safe. I’ll protect you. I’ll never hurt you, Kaliyah.” She looked up into his eyes, those deep, intense eyes that somehow felt more like home than anything she’d ever known. “You’re my mate,” he said. “I’ve waited so many years to find you. I’m not leaving you here, not for another minute.” Something in his voice cracked through her walls. Kaliyah’s chest tightened. Her life with Kate hadn’t been a life. It had been survival, misery and isolation. She didn’t even live like a person, let alone a daughter. And yet this stranger, this wolf man, was looking at her like she was everything. Her lips parted to speak but before she could say anything, the sharp rustle of leaves behind them stole the words from her mouth. She spun around, only to find a figure standing at the edge of the trees, half-shrouded in shadow. And then, the figure stepped forward. And outside, the faint sound of doors opening and equipment being unloaded meant things were already in motion. While they waited for the maids to finish cleaning up the room, Dr. Elric moved to the entrance and began directing four young men dressed in clean blue hospital uniforms. Each of them carefully handling medical equipment. Two of the boys were wheeling in a heart monitor and an IV drip stand, while the other two carried in a portable oxygen concentrator and a digital blood pressure machine. They moved steadily, placing the equipment in a line near the staircase, awaiting further instruction.Just then, a Felicia came rushing out from upstairs. She bowed quickly, slightly out of breath. “Alpha, everyone, the room is ready.”Levi gave a single nod. “Good. Show them the way.”“Yes, Alpha,” she said, turning immediately. “This way, please.”Dr. Elric, the nurse, and the four hospital assistants followed behind her, carrying the equipment carefully up the staircase. Levi follow
“It's nothing to worry about”. He said softly, while avoiding her gaze. “You’ll be fine. You just need treatment.”Kaliyah lifted her hand to raise his chin so that he could look into her eyes. “Levi… what did the doctor say?” She urged softly.Levi forced a smile and kissed the back of her hand. “My love.. you're just a little unwell, you just need rest.” He said, motioning for her to lie back down. But she wasn’t buying it. She knew him to an extent by now. And this wasn’t how he usually behaved. Something was wrong. “Why are you lying to me?” Tears welled up in her eyes.Levi’s eyes turned even gentler. “Hey… don’t cry. Please don’t cry, baby.”“Please tell me what the doctor said.”Levi sighed and made her lie down. “I didn’t want to tell you so you don’t get worried. You’re already unwell.” He said, stroking the back of her hand.“Please…” “The doctor said… there is poison in your blood. You’ve been consuming wolfsbane for a very long time.” He finally said.Kaliyah looked at
“Wait, does that mean she’s a werewolf?” “Yes. The Luna is a werewolf.” Dr. Eric said.Levi dropped to his seat.Everybody's mouth hung open and they were dumbfounded for a while. And then Oliver spoke. “So… she didn’t smell human because she wasn’t human, and she didn’t smell like a werewolf because—”“The wolf’s bane was suppressing her wolf.” Ray completed. “Exactly.” Dr. Eric nodded.Levi ran a hand through his hair. “This means her foster mum has been giving her wolf’s bane…” He murmured. “From what the test says, she’s been given wolf’s bane in small amounts for a long time. We’ll conduct more tests and see how long she’s been taking it, but what we can see right now is that the wolf’s bane suppressed her wolf. That’s why she has never shifted… and it’s probably really fatal for her health.” The doctor stated.Levi stood up from his seat and walked toward the doctor. “I’ll worry about who’s been giving her wolfbane and all that shit later. Right now, her health is the priori
He sat back beside her, took the damp cloth from her forehead, dipped it back into the bowl of cool water, wrung it out, and gently placed it back onto her skin.He leaned forward, brushing his knuckles along her cheek with infinite tenderness before pressing a soft kiss there.“Baby... you’re scaring me so much,” he whispered hoarsely. He picked up her hand and kissed it too, holding it tightly in both of his.Kaliyah’s lips parted slightly, and it looked like she wanted to speak, but no sound came out.Levi's heart cracked. His entire body tensed, and a flicker of desperation flashed in his eyes.“No, shh…” he said softly. “Don’t try to talk. Just relax, okay? I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”He adjusted the cloth on her head once more and stroked her hair with his fingers.“You’ll be okay… you’ll be okay…” He whispered over and over. And as her breathing softened and she drifted back into a light sleep, Levi sat there beside her like a mate who would burn the world down jus
“Come upstairs,” he said, his tone deadly serious. And then he turned, heading for the stairs with Kaliyah cradled protectively against his chest. Her face was now pale, her body limp but still breathing as Dr. Elric followed closely behind. As Levi gently laid Kaliyah on the bed, she gave the faintest sigh, her eyes fluttering with exhaustion. Her fingers were loosely curled, her skin was damp with sweat.Dr. Elric Varnen stepped in behind him, dropping his medical bag on the side table.Ray, Oliver, and Mirella lingered near the door. The atmosphere was thick with worry.“Alpha,” Elric said, giving Levi a respectful nod, “I need a few minutes to check her properly.”Levi gave a short nod. “Ray, Oliver… take Mirella and wait downstairs.”Mirella looked like she wanted to protest but didn’t when she saw Levi’s expression. She followed the others out quietly.Just then, Felicia walked in with the bowl and white cloth then placed it on the drawer, before leaving. Now alone in the room
As Mirella and Kaliyah sat side by side on the bench, laughing and nibbling at their pink candyfloss, the morning sun casting soft shadows around them.Just then, a sudden sharp wave of pain pulsed through Kaliyah’s head. Her smile faded immediately. Her vision became blurry. She dropped the candyfloss from her hand and held her head with both hands, her fingers digging slightly into her scalp.“Kaliyah?” Mirella’s voice rose with alarm as she dropped her own candyfloss and reached for her. “Kaliyah, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”Kaliyah didn’t speak, she only shook her head slowly, wincing as another pulse of pain hit her. She was clearly struggling to remain steady.Leon’s eyes narrowed immediately. He stood up. “Let’s take her home. Now.” He said quickly. He bent down, carefully helping Mirella lift Kaliyah from the bench. A few park-goers nearby turned to look, their expressions quickly shifting to concern. One woman walked toward them and asked, “Is the Luna okay?”Leon gave a ti
Levi ran his fingers through her hair, brushing it off her face with care.“If you're not comfortable answering,” he said softly, “you don’t have to say anything, at least not right away.”Kaliyah nodded slowly. Then Levi asked quietly, “Who was the woman you bumped into when you left the forest?”
The moment Levi saw them, he didn’t say anything. He simply turned and continued walking down the hall. Ray and Oliver simply followed behind him. They reached the balcony. The cool night breeze brushed gently against their faces, rustling the trees below and carrying the soft sounds of the pack f
Kaliyah instinctively clutched Levi’s shirt tighter, her eyes locked on the approaching figure. “You really had to come here,” Levi said, his tone calm, not hostile, more like someone mildly inconvenienced by a familiar face. The figure came into a clear view. He had tousled dark hair that curled
The moment Sebastian got close enough, his cold gaze landed on the girl Levi held protectively at his side. His expression didn’t shift, but his eyes seemed to take her in carefully, like he was studying a problem rather than a person. Then, with a slight, half-hearted nod, he spoke.“Greetings, A
