Irina’s POV

I was too confused to move. Nothing was making sense. The bright streetlights flickered in my eyes as I followed Damien across the dark grounds to the hospital. A trail of blood left from my mother as he carried her. A dagger stuck out of her chest.

Everything is a blur. I couldn’t get things straight in my head. I had gone downstairs to grab a glass of water and mom was just lying there, unmoving. I had heard nothing, not a single sound to alert me that something was wrong.

I vaguely remember throwing my body on top of hers. My tshirt soaking up some of her blood as it pooled around her. Damien appeared from nowhere, almost like he knew I needed him. He had to shout at me, but his words still sounded hazy.
