CHAPTER EIGHT

TAYLOR’S POV

The palor was full, guests buzzing like flies from corner to corner. Cocking win bottles and making merry. The host, which is I, stood somewhere across from them all, like the ghost of the occasion. An overly adorned ghost. My eyes darting from entrance to entrance. I wasn't going to let Daisy and her guest take me unaware.

I took a few deep breaths and sipped my cocktail in my glass. For a moment, mother's laugh distracted me. The whole crowd seemed joyful. Talking about me and the wedding like something magnificent was about to happen. It made me want to cringe. Zephyr is a control freak, arrogant, impulsive and a Bully. Everyone knew that and yet it seemed like him being the alpha’s son meant all his sins were forgiven.

I scoffed, wrinkling my nose. They can play blind all day for all I care. I wanted no part of it. I gulped down what was left of the drink and turned, my mind set on the mission when I spotted her. Green dress over white heels. They co

TAYLOR’S POVThe sun set on us halfway to the Lycan kingdom. We had to stop and camp. Zephyr left me with Oscala while he moved forward to see it we were close to that small pack on the road to the Lycan kingdom. For the record, I told him it would ad better if we took. The straight road that ran through the two lands which was still been fought over by the Lycans and the wolves. He disagreed, insisting that the road was not ready for him to trend on. If he did, it would mean that he has taken over the land or something like that. I admit, he was making some sense but still, sometimes he should put propaganda and politics aside and help himself out. I heaved, looking out of the window in the carriage. Oscala was pacing and muttering. He had been doing that since we started this journey. Maybe not pacing because you can’t pace while strapped to a driver’s side on a carriage but he was definitely muttering. I rolled my eyes it’s boring everywhere I look. I leaned on my seat, closin

ZEPHYR’S POVYou never really understand how good it is to sleep in peace until you lose it. The few days I had to spend my nights with her, and lie awake at night worrying about her. The hours that I had to spent thinking of all the bad things in the world which could happen to us because of me; those were the most painful times of my life. Right now, waking up to feel her lying on my chest, sleeping silently, all snuggled up like baby, reminded me of what really mattered. What I thought of when I decided to lie. I see now that I could never bring myself to ruining this peace she had and that was why I chose to lie and face the consequences. Well, I’m glad they the consequences are finally behind us. She grumbled almost immediately I broke out if my reverie. I watched rub her eyes like a little girl and then open them. My face was the first thing she saw. She was still half asleep but she managed to smile at me. “Someone’s up early.” She murmured.“Its day break silly. We are up

ZULU’S POV “Zulu, wake up. You cannot sleep at this hour, we have much to discuss.” he whispered tapping me on the shoulder. I rose from bed immediately, still a bit sleepy eyed but I recognized him and I had his head together enough to speak to me.“Oscala why are you waking me? Did something happen?” I questioned, concern in my voice.“No but we cannot wait for something to happen. Come, I have called someone else. We need to assemble.”“You still have not said what is the purpose of this late night wake up call.” I muttered. I may be eager to know but somehow I was more eager to sleep too. “You will know when we meet up with the person waiting for us. Come we have little time before day break.” Oscala lead the way. I followed, murmuring to himself but making no obvious sounds. We trend through the palace hallways, disappearing in the connection that ran down to the garden. We were immediately concealed by the large trees and tall grasses the instant we entered the garden Even t

TAYLOR’S POV“Don’t you even think about it.”He froze up, looking right into my eyes. But he wasn’t surprised, he appeared as though he knew he had been caught but then it didn’t matter. For some reason they made me really sick inside.“What were you trying to do?” I scurried away, sitting up. He pulled away a little. I held his gaze, covering up with the sheets. He squeezed his gaze, like he had seen something they didn’t make any sense.“What are you doing, Taylor? Are you hiding your body from me?” I boned my face, not offering him any reply. His lips twitched, making a small smile right after he let out a sharp exhale. “Don’t be ridiculous Taylor. I know things aren’t good between us but making it look like I would do something without your consent, not that’s just disgusting.”“Right now. I’m not so sure what you can and cannot do.”His eyes widened in disbelief.. “Taylor!”“Zephyr, you lied to me. You made me believe what wasn’t real and you were gonna let it go on for as lo

ZEPHYR’S POV“What were you thinking?! I yelled. Hell, I had never been this angry in my entire existence. I felt like cracking her skull. I bet she didn’t think before she spoke. But how could she be so stupid to say something like that to Taylor. How was she not able to realize that Taylor was still in the dark about he parent’s death. That girl’s stupidity really ruined everything for me.I paused, realizing that I been pacing. I turned around, staring at the wall, messaging the bridge of my nose. If I don’t calm down, someone will still get hurt, preferably Daisy.Luck for her, Oscala appeared, Theodore following closely behind. I hurried to him immediately. “How is she?” I asked, breathing fast and frightened.“She is coping, I don’t to how well though. She just want no one to come to her especially you. She feels betrayed.”“Does she know why we had to do it?” Oscala nodded. “She knows but she is still upset. Or perhaps she is grieving. Honestly I can’t tell right now.”I b

TAYLOR’S POVWhat’s that thing they said that losing family hurts worse than a stab wound, well they were wrong because right now, If someone ever put together all the pain I had been through all my life and hit me with it, all at once; I swear it wouldn’t hurt me as much as I was hurting now. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t breathe. I was just there, on my knees hugging myself and trembling. I stared at the ground but it seemed ads through I was looking into the abyss. For the first time in my life, I was utterly devastated. At that moment, all I could notice was me. I didn’t see Zephyr lingering behind me or Daisy staring at me with pain in her eyes. I didn’t notice Oscala either until he stopped in front of me and crouched down. He whispered.“Come on, get up.” He placed a hand on my shoulder. I tried to shake him off but his grip was firm. I struggled futilely to get him off me, in the end, I couldn’t shake him off. He pulled me up and supported me a little. We wal
