Chapter 2

“Trixie.” I grab hold on Trixie’s hand and drag her inside my room.

“What’s up birthday girl? Are you enjoying the party?” I could see that she is already a bit tipsy. Good thing our parents aren’t here. There was a sudden business trip that my dad needs to attend and mom decided to come along with him.

Which I think is a bad idea. After learning that both our parents will be away on my birthday, Trixie decided to change the party details to a more.. how will I describe it? Wild!

I gently massage my forehead before opening my mouth to talk.

“Trix, I really appreciate the effort you’ve made in throwing me a party like this but…” I was cut off by her tight hug.

“Oh, you’re welcome El.” She holds me in arms length and smiles brightly.

“I love you okay? You’re my sister, and I’ll do anything to make you happy. So let’s go back downstairs and get drunk.” And with that, she exited my room and I was left with a fake smile in my face.

How am I gonna say that I am not enjoying this party at all?

Ughhhh

My head is really throbbing and I can’t seem to know why.

I had a slight headache when I woke up this morning and it just worsen as hours passed by.

I automatically went to my drawers to find anything that can subtle the headache but it just getting painful as I moved around.

I sat down on my bed to steady myself because I felt a little dizzy.

Unconsciously, my hand went straight to my forehead because the pain is already singled out to a certain area. It’s like a nail was pinned to that very spot.

I then went to the mirror and see that the pain comes from the spot where my birthmark should be.

But the mark is completely gone.

Strange….. it was just here this morning. Though it can’t be seen clearly but I’m sure there was a tiny pinkish line when I woke up.

I don’t want to think to much of it so I decided to go downstairs and see if the first aid kit still has pain relievers in it.

I pass through people making out on our hallway and on the stairs and I just ignored them.

I don’t even know who these people are.

They are mostly Trixie’s friends.

I have my two bestfriends somewhere in the house though. We’ve been best friends since primary school and they are the two people I trusted the most aside from my family.

But of course they have their boyfriends with them so I’m sure they are probably making out with them too.

I went straight to where the medicine kit is, not minding the loud music and the drunk people around me. It’s almost midnight so it’s understandable that everyone partying here is practically drunk already.

Lucky for me I found the pain reliever and drink it quickly.

I decided to go back upstairs and lock myself in my bedroom. I just hope Trixie won’t notice that I bail my own party for some sleep.

Who can blame me? My forehead feels like exploding anytime soon.

As I was about to take the stairs, my nostrils caught a very beautiful scent. It was something more like vanilla and rose. I haven’t smelt something like it before. The scent was too strong it made my headache even worst. My heart beats fast I think I am out of breath.

Am I palpitating now?

I climb the stairs cautiously trying not to fall.

Just as I finish the last flight of stair, I saw a man standing on the hallway beside my bedroom looking at me. The scent must be coming from him. I don’t know but I just think it must be him. It made me dizzy and it made my heart double its then abnormal beating.

I gently massage my forehead as I walked towards my door ignoring the strange man beside it.

I am literally 3 steps away from the door when the man suddenly blocked my way.

The hallway was not properly lit and the only thing that served as light is the blinking led lights that was put above us. So, I can’t really see his face clearly.

The man smirked and leaned forward making his face mere inches from mine.

He took a deep breath like he was smelling me.

Naturally if somebody is doing that to me, I would definitely punch him in the face but strangely, I seem to enjoy what he is doing now.

I froze when he stared down at me. I can now see the strong jawline of the this man. His powerful eyes that held darkness and a glint of curiosity. Its amber orbs pinned me in place. This man is indeed breathtaking though it is smeared by the blue and red blinking lights above.

“I’m surprise I found you here…….Mate.” His voice pulled me back from oblivion.

“What?”

“Let’s cut the chase. I know you knew who I am.”
