Chapter Sixteen

Jane parked her car in the spot where Reid usually parked and she noticed more than a few looks at her blatant bravery. She ignored it as more people stared at her and she wondered if she had something on her face.

A group of girls walked past her and giggled when recognition showed in their eyes. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary and she knew that she didn’t have toilet paper hanging from her skirt. The uneasiness began to creep in and Jane felt the nerves as they settled inside her.

Another group pointed at her and laughed loudly as she made her way to her locker. When she turned the corner Roxanne and Clarissa stood a few feet from her locker. She squared her shoulders and stopped in front of her locker and gasped.

Loud laughter rang out from Roxanne and Clarissa and Jane could feel the tears well up in her eyes. On her locker was a colour photo of her from her previous school. The photo wasn’t flattering and it showed her in the hallway staring dreamily at Reid and Ryan Hei
