Chapter 4

Xavier stepped back when he reminisced the words of the moon goddess. He realized she wasn’t bluffing when she meant death.

Ashley looked at him with worry in her eyes. “His wolf seems troubled” Xena informed her, “Yeah I can sense that” Ashley replied.

“I have an idea as to why you summoned me here alpha Xavier” Ashley started. 

Xavier’s eyes darted to her as he snapped out of his thoughts. For a reason he didn’t want to reject Ashley, something about her made him want to change his ways.  

“I’m sure you are aware of the mate bond between us” Xavier chimed in, not sure of how to accept her as he has never done it before.

“That is it alpha Xavier” Ashley responded, “Please just call me Xavier” he insisted with a half smile. 

“Uhmm okay al-, sorry Xavier I know you have never accepted any of your mates and I wouldn’t be any different so we should just-” Ashley was cut off when Xavier butted in.

“No no, before you even go there I’m not going to reject you” Xavier explained.

“What do you mean al- Xavier?” Ashley stuttered.

“I’ve never really done this before,” Xavier said as he took a deep breath. 

“I Xavier Evatt Alpha of the Grandcrest pack, accept you Ashley Valta as my mate” As he finished saying those words he felt more drawn to her.

Ashley was dumbfounded, she couldn’t believe the words she just heard, but her state of confusion was immediately replaced with a smile as she felt his hands around her. 

Out of emotion, Xavier kissed her intensely, she was startled by his actions but she returned the kiss as their lips synced with each other. 

Koa was excited that he had finally been united with his mate. “This is the best feeling ever,” Koa said. “Yes it truly is, I never knew how good it would feel” Xavier responded inwardly with a smile.

Xavier gently pulled away “The marking ceremony will be two days from now” he informed with a grin as he led Ashley out of the mansion.

She was about to walk out the gates when she turned around to face him “Thank you for accepting me, you don’t know what you’ve done for him” Ashley commented.

“I’ll see you soon my Luna” Xavier expressed in a romantic tone and she gave him a sweet smile as they drove off to her house.

“Luna? Well, that was quick” Koa remarked. “I know right she feels different to me” Xavier replied. “and I like it”.

Ashley couldn’t contain her excitement as she informed her parents of the news. She called Keithera and she was equally excited to hear the news.

“But Ash be careful, he could still go about sleeping with as many girls as he wants” Keithera sneered but Ashley didn’t give much thought to that. 

The call ended and Keithera picked up her phone and informed the person on the other end of the news she just heard and they both devised a plan.

The day for the marking ceremony came and Ashley was already prepared.

Xavier came to the Valta household with his mother, Rosalie who couldn’t be more happy for her son that he finally found a mate.

He approached Ashley, and her vanilla mixed with honey scent filled his nostrils which made Koa go crazy. Ashley went on to reveal the skin between her neck and shoulders.

Xavier lowered his head and pressed his elongated canines gently into her skin, which made Ashley

wince. A bold mark was left on the spot signifying she had been claimed.

Their bond grew stronger as they could read each other’s thoughts. “I can’t believe it, we finally have our mate” Xena beamed.

“Oh shit I can read her thoughts, I love the way she sounds, so sexy” Koa gushed as he listened keenly.

“We can hear you,” Xavier and Ashley hinted to their wolves. 

Xavier carried Ashley in bridal style to the car as they made their way to the mansion. He assigned a personal bodyguard to her whose name was Jasper.

Many days later, Ashley was gradually getting settled in her new home as Luna.

Ashley was reading a book in the room when Jasper knocked on the door. “The alpha would like to see you in the garden” Jasper informed. She didn't bother to mind-link Xavier as she left the room. 

She made her way down the stairs when Jasper used a heavy tool to knock her in the head and she passed out. Ashley was carried in a sack that had aconite in it to prevent her from shifting.

Jasper followed a hidden back door where no one could see him as he put her in a car and drove far away from the mansion. He carried her into an abandoned building. 

He left her then and drove off. She sustained injuries as Jasper couldn’t carry her properly. “What’s happening?” Ashley questioned in a weak tone. “I’m not sure” Xena replied weaker than Ashley. 

“I can’t even shift” Ashley spoke again and Xena replied, “I don't know who but we have been weakened by aconite”. This made Ashley panic as she tried to mind-link Xavier but it wasn’t working.

Back in the palace. Jasper made a call, “I have done what you asked my love” and the person on the other end commended him.

Keithera approached Xavier when she got to the palace. He was confused when he laid eyes on her “What are you doing here?” Xavier asked, his voice laced with anger.

“Calm down, I come bearing good news” Keithera responded cheekily as she rubbed the shoulders of Xavier. He quickly threw her hands away. 

Keithera continued and said with a mischievous smile “You know that little exciting night we had, well it produced an offspring for you”.

Xavier was shocked, he never expected his one night with Keithera to have this outcome. To maintain his reputation he decided to hide her from Ashley and everyone else.

He glared at her and said, “And why should I believe you that the baby is mine”. 

Keithera gave him a sealed envelope and Xavier scanned the contents of the letter, seeing it was a DNA test and It was confirmed that the child was indeed his.

“Look you will speak of this to no one” Xavier commanded as he battled with the evidence before him.

“On one condition, I have to become your Luna” Keithera retaliated as she smiled to herself knowing everything was coming together.

He was aghast at the audacity she had to utter such words “ I am still your alpha so I’m saying to you now stay away from this place, I will think about it” Xavier growled.

She quivered in fear but still managed to say “Be fast with whatever your decision, but I must be Luna” Keithera retorted and left his presence.

Jasper saw her leaving but then she stopped when her phone rang, making him curious as to why she stopped. 

“So did he believe it?” The person on the other end questioned. “Yes, he believed everything, now this must stay between us” Keithera beckoned and she continued walking.

He didn’t bother to ask her as he went on his way, noticing most of the guards weren’t around the mansion he asked a worker.

“Do you know where the king might be?” Jasper questioned, and the worker replied “Could you believe the Luna has been abducted, the alpha has gone out with some of the guards to search for her”.

Jasper’s heart sank as he was already starting to sweat, he couldn’t believe what the alpha would do if he found out who abducted the Luna.
