We’d talked about the plan for tonight a couple of times, and I had been fine with the idea of Rias giving us a lift to our destination in theory.
I hadn’t been worried about the prospect when it was brought up. Honestly, I was exhilarated with the mere idea of flying through the air. Mari and Asher had ridden into my territory astride the huge beast, after all, but I couldn’t figure out how the hell they had gotten up there to begin with.
Howbeit, I opted to solve one problem at a time, and the whereabouts of the missing member of our party took precedence at the moment. I was beginning to wonder if I would have to go and fetch Logan myself, but Rias didn’t seem to mind the delay in the slightest.
He had already shifted shapes by the time Scarlett and I made it outside, and he was presently resting in the grass adjacent to the pack house, waiting for us to climb aboard his back.

Phoenix StormHello wonderful readers, there will be more content uploaded tonight. I have gone back and done some edits, but the people who approve them are on break for about another week as far as I know. (Side note, I have to log out and log back in for the edits to show on my side, so I'm not sure if it's the same for y'all.) Also, I needed a break after this weekend, but the plan is to upload more content quickly and focus on editing for grammar when I'm done with the book, so there may be more mistakes than usual without my normal amount of editing time beforehand. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the sense you guys would rather I upped my writing speed and deal with a few errors until I correct them later. Thanks for the support!

The incessant ringing emanating from the blackness around where I believed the night table was on the other side of the bed indicated what had awoken me from my slumber. Moreover, my mate hurriedly silenced the noise, answering the phone before it completed another loop of the tune he’d set. Scarlett The next day and a half seemed to drag by, but it wasn’t for a lack of things to do, that was for damn sure. Reese had been so busy making certain our ducks were all in a row before the bears invaded that we’d hardly had any time for each other. It didn’t help the rogues had begun their guerilla warfare in earnest once more, but I had a feeling my true mate was on to something prior when he’d said their sporadic attacks were a distraction method. My mate and I announced the threat heading our way to our pack members and guests, instructing them of their part in the whole scheme of things, though it mostly boiled down to the visitors staying within the town limits while our warriors helped secure the province. A few of the male members of the Ursidae species who had been keeping watch over the female werebears and their children during the turmoil in the bears’ land expressed their desire to help fend off Hunter’s incursion.

Reese Another damn group of rogues were trying to breach our borders again this evening. They didn’t make it far before I’d caught the faint smell of lady palm, but their attempt didn’t piss me off any less, irrespective. I thanked Luna and Kyle both that I had received the serum when Scarlett and I returned from our mission a couple of days ago as I took off after the trespassers who didn’t know we had the capability of detecting them. My wolf’s claws slashed through the dirt as I raced onward, forgetting about the nippy bite to the air as adrenaline rushed in, and I centered all my concentration on finding the menace lurking in my province.
