4. Secret Place

I walked into the room where I was supposed to sleep with Xavier. After changing into comfortable clothes and getting ready for bed I came out of the bathroom to see my so-called mate laying on the wide sofa which I think wasn't wide enough for him because of his well-built, muscular body.

"Stand up." Before I could even process what was happening, I was standing in front of him saying this.

He opened his green eyes, which by the way were beautiful. Looking at me with his eyebrows pulled together, he remained seated.

"Stand up," I said again and this time he obeyed my words.

"What happened?" He questioned while looking at me, up and down.

Without saying a word I made myself comfortable on the sofa, all the while he was watching me.

"What?" I raised a brow at the guy who was watching my every move without even blinking. "Go sleep."

"Ummm.....I was sleeping here," he said to me, confusion was written all over his face.

"More like trying-to-fit-myself on the sofa." I rolled my eyes. "I don't want this poor thing to be in pain all night, go and sleep on the bad Mr. green eyes." Mentally slapping myself, I scolded myself, why would I say this to him?

"A what?" A soft smile touched his lips.

"Just go." I was about to turn but he stopped me "I can't let you sleep here. It's so uncomfortable here," he said and for a second I wanted to hug him but then wanted to shout at him, who was he to care for me? When I needed-

Shaking my head I restrained my thoughts and myself.

"I'm good here."

*******

I was eating my breakfast when Mr.green eyes entered the kitchen and not only this he was half-naked! his black hair was wet and water droplets would drop down when he would shake his head.

I coughed and fastly gulped the water that was in front of me.

'Today's morning is amazing.' My wolf was surely going crazy.

'No, it's not.' I blocked her so she could not say anything else.

"I didn't know you are that poor," I told him while eating, pretending that I didn't just choke on my food because of him being shirtless nor did I see him smiling evilly when he saw my reaction.

"Huh?" He looked cute when he was confused.

'Don't admire him, you idiot.' I scolded myself.

"Don't worry I will buy you a shirt so you can wear that." Preventing myself from laughing when I saw his face change from confused one to shocked and then blank, I continued my breakfast.

"I have enough clothes, I don't like wearing much at home. Other girls never complained about it though." He replied with a smirk while eating the breakfast that I didn't know why I prepared for him.

"Well, boys never complained when I workout in bra and shorts but it does not mean that I will roam around like that in front of every guy. Everyone has different likes and dislikes." I didn't expect it but the next second I was pinned to the wall.

"What did you just say?" Xavier looked like he could kill anyone right now.

"I said something? When? I think I forgot it." I said sweetly and went back to my food which was nearly finished.

On the other hand, my angry mate whose eyes were turning purple, blue, black, and green meant he was fighting very hard from his powers which were taking over him. He took his shirt and went outside. Not to forget slammed the door loudly behind.

I felt bad seeing him like this. But my words weren't supposed to make him this angry. I didn't want to hurt him but wasn't that my plan? To hurt them? To leave them after all this?

These feelings and my thoughts were driving me crazy!

*******

I kept walking until a familiar feeling of calmness took over the anger and confusion. I looked around me, still the same.

Green, just like Xavier ey- 'Stop it, Stella!'

The trees surrounding me were not only calming but they made me feel protected. Each tree fought for the sunlight as every stem of the trees was trying to reach the top. In front of me was a gigantic river with blue water which was meeting the sky at the end, from my point of view.

My secret place, which not many people knew, was still the same. But I wasn't. I wasn't the same innocent and naive kid without my wolf. Seemed like it was true that people change but not memories and places, they always remain the same. This place knew everything about me, every time I cry here, every pain, every weakness but still, it was the same, helping me and saving me from my problems.

*****

I once again sat in the same place for an hour just watching the river and admiring the beauty of the place.  Being just 10-year-old the trees and deep water was interesting to me.

I didn't know what to do it wasn't like I had anything to do and just thinking about going back was making me scared. In anger, I had slapped my small sister and I didn't think her mother would go easy on me.

The sunset was breathtaking, the sky changed from blue to orange-red. I should have gone back to my supposed home but I couldn't bring myself to face that lady's anger. Just when my eyes were starting to close and my head was lowered to my hands that were kept on my crossed legs, I heard someone.

"Is anyone here." A stranger shouted from somewhere inside the dense forest. Should I run or help him?

I walked toward the place from where the voice was coming as I didn't think it was good leaving someone like this.

I knew this place very well and that was why I never got lost in these same types of big trees sprawling everywhere, but anyone new would surely fail to find a way around here.

A boy who would be bigger than me was standing cluelessly, his back was facing me right now. I watched him from behind and saw he was hurt as his hands were bleeding.

"Are you okay?" I asked slowly and he turned around to face me. He was handsome, his green eyes, fair clean skin, and red lips were all making him look perfect but the blood on his clothes was making me afraid. Was he a killer with a beautiful appearance? Like in a story I read.

"Hey, Who are you?" His voice was beautiful. Soft but firm.

"I'm Stella, I usually come here. what are you doing here?" I, yet again, asked him.

"Well.....uh.....I was just running from a wolf who was chasing me," He said.

"You went outside the pack!" I looked at him like he was an idiot, maybe he was, why would he do that, go outside the pack without any adult?

"Please don't tell this to anyone." He plead and l didn't know what to do at first. But later thinking that I wouldn't have liked it if someone would have told my father something about me, I nodded to him.

"Are you lost?" I questioned to which he moved his head in a yes.

********

I opened my eyes fastly, just to see myself wet by the rain.

Oh, God!

I looked at my clothes which were now see-through and without even thinking I made a run for the house.
