I didn’t know what was wrong with Izer. Everything was fine when I fainted. Now, it felt like there was a wall between us and it was so high that I could barely look at Izer—my Izer.

What could have happened in two days to make him appear so distant?

I wondered about it for a long time even after I finished breakfast and sat on the couch in the living room. Izer came with two mugs of coffee and placed one in front of me. I eyed the hot drink before looking up to find Izer sitting on the single seat opposite mine.

He put distance between us. He never did that before. He never sat at a distance from me. He liked to invade my space and make me feel his presence.

I stared at him as he sipped on his coffee and leaned back.

“ Martha is on her way. ” He informed me, avoiding eye contact like he had done something wrong…or maybe I did.

What could it be?

This was frustrating me.
