Chapter Seventy-three

Leila's POV

My heart thundered beneath my chest. There was a war going on outside because of me and I can't do anything. I stared at the two guards that stood at the doorpost watching my every movement. I felt like a liability with each second passing by. The one closest to the door fell down with a thud and the other one turned to shoot at the intruder but he wasn't fast enough. His head was blown about before he had the chance to cock his gun.

" Cassidy?" She placed a finger above her lips and walked towards me. She carefully untied me.

" What is going on?"

" Look, I'm sorry about everything. I didn't know that it would lead to a full blown war. There's not enough time on our side. I need you to move fast and be as discreet as you can be. I don't have many arms in me. Follow my lead." She said in one breath as she finally loosened the rope on my leg. She brought her hand forward and I placed mine in hers.
