Chapter Twenty three

Leila's POV

I was still fuming when I heard his voice behind me. As much as I didn't want it to affect me, it still fucking sends shivers to my spine.

"It's a good thing you already know." I turned around to face him, my heart racing but I didn't want him to see that I was scared. I folded my hand on my chest. I know I looked like a warrior, but inwardly, I was praying that he wasn't going to cut my head off for what I was about to say. He wouldn't kill his mate would he?

"I want you to reject me now." He narrowed his eyes at me.

"If it was that simple, I would have done that the moment I laid my eyes on you." Even though I promised myself that his words won't hurt me again, I still felt like I was stabbed with a hot knife as he said those words to me.

"You will have to play the role of a queen for now till we find a way to break this stupid bond." It isn't a stupid bond! I wanted to cry out but I couldn't trust my voice to keep up the boldness.
