*CURTIS’ POV* (Eight days later) A peal of boisterous laughter left me as I proudly walked through the human town in the heated afternoon. It’s been eight days since I traveled in my wolf form, trespassing and prowling through territories to make it here. I'm in another state and could lie low here. *SIANNA’S POV* Valen held the attention of everyone in the room. His uncle, Alpha Virgil, introduced him to his nine-month-old cousin, Valiant Hyde. They played together, cooing and gurgling at each other. Plus, I finally got to meet the rest of my in-laws. Things felt normal, and being with Vance again was fulfilling. He comes home earlier these days, helping me take care of our son, and attending to my needs. His only needs seemed to be about being with his family and, of course, making love. Valen stirred on my chest and half-opened his eyes. Sianna softly pats him on the back and looks at me questioningly. “Someone was here,” I told her through the mind-link. Immediately she took Valen from me, and my senses heightened to trail the uninvited scent. But first, I took my mate and son to our safe room and checked the camera footage there. Our secondary objective was to convince Curtis that the dagger had indeed been effective, so that he would act while we had him in our grasp. However, my concern ran deep within me. Asking Sianna to wield the web of entrapment for her ex-boyfriend troubled my heart. For one, I despise the thought of her being alone or around him. Next was whether she was able to stand by while I killed him. What will she truly do? While going to the bathroom and dragging me along with her, the worries of my mind could not settle. We quickly showered together so that Sianna could rest. “Baby, even though you are not talking, I can feel you slipping into one of those moments where you are shutting your thoughts away from me.” Her wary voice commented. “When I catch Curtis, would you stop me from killing him?” I could not help asking and praying
