Beauty in blue

Beauty in Blue, that's what every model used to call her including her fans; She was not that big of a modeling sensation but still, she was known.

Today again she is wearing blue but the only difference is the blue is a school dress; Maya walked inside the class as Azora smiled at her; Maya offered her a small smile before she walked towards the same seat, she took yesterday.

The weather was even colder today though there was the sun peeking in between the clouds, still, the fog did not let them see after a few feet; the window was closed but Maya felt suffocated because of it all of a sudden. when she tried to open it a few other classmates protested, it was chilly outside.

" Maya, you can take the last seat if you want some air, " Azora said as Maya turned her head to look at the few empty seats.

Unknowingly her eyes lingered on the seat where that mysterious guy was sitting yesterday; Maya looked around but he was nowhere in the class.

Maybe he didn't come today.

She brushed it off before she picked her bag and sat on the seat close to the door; the same one where that guy was sitting yesterday to be specific. A sudden warmth filled her heart; she couldn't put it in words what it was but she felt... good.

her class fellows looked at her like she stole their cats; Maya wanted to ask them but the teacher entered the class and the lecture started; it was not even five minutes the class started when someone entered from the back door.

" Ash, you are late! " the teacher said to him as he looked at the ground.

" sit, I am letting it go just because it is your first time, this behavior would not be tolerated in my class, " Ash nodded his head as he wiped the sweat off his forehead; Maya looked at him; he looked pissed? and why not? she was sitting in his seat.

Ash murmured something under his breath as he sat at a corner; he was keeping his bag on the desk when Maya's gaze fell on his knuckles; they were blooded, her breath stopped for a few seconds as she looked at the dirt on his shoes.

I saw wet mud only around that room last night nowhere else on this campus,

Maya could not understand what was even happening to her; Ash felt her stare on him, he looked up and saw her gaze fixed on his knuckles.

he smirked as her eyes met his; He winked at her as her eyes widened before the heat rose to her cheeks. she diverted her eyes immediately as he smiled.

two minutes before the bell rings for lunchtime, Maya saw a first-aid box in one of the open cabinets in the classroom; Maya smiled sadly, yesterday he had helped her. as soon as the bell rang, Every student of the class ran out; Maya walked near the cabinets before she picked the first-aid box and walked near his seat.

He was not in the class anymore; Maya was not ready to look at him just to get another teasing wink in return so she just kept the first-aid box on his seat and walked out of the class.

She was not hungry but the painkillers she took were making her feel sleepy; lunch break was of 45 minutes; She decided to go back to her hostel room and take a small nap.

When she reached her room thankfully the warden was not there otherwise she had to make up an excuse; She opened the windows of her room as she was feeling suffocated. She even started the fan on full speed for a few minutes until she felt better.

Setting the alarm for half an hour, Maya laid on the bed, soon darkness came over her.

Feeling a few waterdrops on her face; she opened her eyes, blinking a few times to take care of her blurred vision; She saw it was raining outside; She looked around only to find the door of her room a bit opened.

But I had closed it fully...

she thought as she looked at the clock, it was 4 pm already; She facepalmed herself as she looked outside; She cant skip classes like that; Shaking her head she closed the window as the rain was ruining the floor.

Changing her clothes into a white furry jacket with a pink summer top underneath she paired it with black jeans; she was hungry but it was still 3 hours to dinner.

She decided to go out for a walk; the hallway was not empty but she did not bother talking to anyone; she simply did not want to. 

Maya walked out of her room; the hallway was not empty this time; a few girls looked at her; some in awe others in jealousy; she was near the corridor when she remembered she did not see uncle Max the other day too. 

It was the weekend tomorrow; She looked around before she walked towards the principal office; She was not sure if she will find him there but there was no harm in just checking. 

She knocked on the door but it was already unlocked; she looked around to see if anyone was looking but there was no one; Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and pushed the door open. 

" Uncle Max? " No reply; Maya opened her eyes as she saw the room was not even lit; She saw a few files dropped on the floor. 

She shook her head and picked those files and kept them on the top of the table; She did not want to peek inside them but the photo of a student was peaking out calling her to have a look at it. 

Somehow fighting the urge to look at the photo she turned around but her gaze fell on someone; someone who was walking towards the deserted woods. She could not see the face but from the body language and clothes; she could say it was a boy. 

" Maya? " a gasp escaped her lips as she turned around hurriedly; keeping her hand above her chest she looked at the person who called her. 

" What are you doing here? " Max asked as he switched on the lights; Maya took a few deep breaths to control her ragged and sacred breathing. 

" Uncle Max, you scared me! " Maya shook her head as her eyes met his. 

" Well, I wasn't trying to... " He said with a sad smile; Maya looked at him as he took a seat. 

" I... I was here to just check on you, you weren't here the other day, " Maya explained as she sat on one of the chairs. 

" I must be busy with something, " He replied as an awkward silence filled the room; Maya did not know what to say and Max did not know what to ask. 

" I must get going, " Maya said before she stood up. 

She was about to get the door when Uncle Max called her again; " Yes, Uncle? " She replied. 

" There's a small ceremony at the cemetery tomorrow for a student who died a few years ago, would you like to come and offer flowers? " Max asked. 

Offering flowers at the place where I am going to be in a few months? I must go and at least have a look test of my new home. 

Maya thought as she nodded; "noon, " He said before She walked out of the room. 

Suddenly, Maya remembered the guy who was walking into the woods; She walked towards the ground to have a glips but there was no one other than a few students who were busy among themselves. 

She saw the stairs and went to the rooftop; the pinkish beauty of sunset greeted her along with cold winds; She hugged herself before she walked to the very end of the roof. She was about 4 floors above the ground. 

' Would it be painful if I jump from here? ' the thought made her chuckle; of course, there was no one to watch her laughing alone but the small smile on her lips looked beautiful but scary. 

Taking a seat on one of the old benches that were kept there; she aimlessly watched the pink sky slowly turning into orange then dark, darker... 

She does not know what was so beautiful in watching the light fade away but it was fascinating; 10 minutes before dinner time; she sneaked back for the night.
