Chapter 7: The Cabin

Hearing the loud clang of the doorbell, I rush to the bathroom for finishing touches before I allow him to see me. I would love it if he opened the door and immediately thinks to himself, “I must be the luckiest man in the world to be with such a beautiful woman.” Then he proceeds to drop to his knees and ask me to marry him. However, we all know that is a fairy tale ending and those don’t really exist.

Realizing that I am just being foolish, I glance in the bathroom mirror quickly. There is something wrong, but at first, I don’t notice what it is until I inspect my face closer. Trying to decipher if it’s the lighting or my skin tone, I decide to go with the latter. As I run the blush brush over my cheekbones, I inspect the splash of rose blush that I had just bought at the store yesterday from Estee Lauder.

Now satisfied with myself, I smile and then hurry to the bedroom so I can do a once over in the full-length mirror. Admiring the way it all came together, I think to myself
