Nicole remained mute. She cleaned her teary eyes and dropped her head.

"Yeah it's my book. I wrote it but I have no hand in my husband's death… I don't even know how he died," Nicole muttered.

"I will put it straight to you. Your husband was poisoned by potassium cyanide and he was stabbed brutally after he had died. Did that ring a bell?" Shane said coldly.

Slowly, Nicole raised up her head and trembled. Her eyes radiated fear and she groaned repeatedly.

"Oh, the deity must have answered your prayers when your father in law refused to go along with an autopsy. Are you scared now?" Shane blurted out.

"Yes I wrote 'The Cliff' but I did not kill my husband!" Nicole yelled painfully.

"Do not delay your confession, it could be used against you in court," Shane said and looked towards the screen.

The door to the Interrogation room opened up. The chief led atty Lewis and Ruthie in.

He signaled to Shane to continue reading and everyone listened.
