Zev’s heart seemed to jump out of his chest. He never thought he would feel so overwhelmed the way he did when Layla returned his feelings. The doubts in his mind were clearing away as his resolve to keep Layla by his side had gotten stronger. He wasn’t lying when he said he’d fight against anyone for Layla. The moonlight faded and was replaced by the bright sun rays radiating through the woods.
