Mr. Wright was now beyond worried about his daughter’s whereabouts. He had called the cops after it was impossible to reach her. The worse part now was that, she was nowhere to be found. Same thing as Ian who was long due to have returned back to sea.
The cops had searched every resort, hotels and any other place they could think of, in California, but there was still no trace of Kimberly or Ian. This is getting more frightening as the possibilities of his daughter being kidnapped or even killed ran through his mind. He shuddered at those thoughts, hoping none of them were a reality. He prays his princess, his world and pride was okay, because if something bad happens to her, he doesn’t think he'd be able to live.
At that moment, his phone rang. He didn’t bother checking the caller ID, hoping it was the cops calling with good news.
“Ben, it’s Tony.”
Hugh still couldn’t believe what Alan told him, that his mate, Hailey was dead. Now he understood why he was going through immense emotional pain for so many years. He always had the feeling that his heart had been ripped out of his chest, causing him to feel empty. It was because his mate was gone forever. She isn’t coming back like he had always imagined. He feels like a complete idiot for not fighting for her love then. If he had fought to win her back, she would still be alive, by his side, as his Luna and the mother of his pups. Why did she have to make such a stupid choice? How was she even able to subdue her wolf from desiring its mate? Why did she reject him when she was fully aware that she’d be hurting not just him, but herself.Hugh couldn’t stop thinking about his deceased mate. So many questions were running through his mind, making him wish she was alive to answer them all. The thoug
“Hugh!” Roy growled and turned around, immediately shifting into his wolf form, running towards the direction of the woods. He was beyond enraged. Why would Hugh do such a thing? This was crossing the line. He swore to himself and the moon goddess that he would tear Hugh apart when he gets his hands on him.“Roy!” Alan called out, also shifting into his wolf form going after Roy, Elijah followed behind.“Roy, this isn’t the right way to go about this.” He tried stopping Roy through mind link, but Roy wasn’t in the mood for his uncle’s bullshit.“Roy, stop!” Alan warned, jumping in front of the larger werewolf who didn’t think twice before pushing his uncle aside and continued his journey. How could his uncle tell him not to do anything about it? This was his pack they hurt, the family he had swo
“Hugh, I thought we had an agreement?” Alan asked the moment Hugh picked his call. They were currently still in Roy’s office.“And I remember telling you I was impatient.” Hugh calmly replied. How can he be so calm after killing two innocent lives, Alan wondered.“Those people were innocent. They did nothing to deserve death.”“Well, uncle…” Hugh mocked.“You can’t blame me. Your favorite nephew has something that belongs to me.”“That’s ridiculous. Those people had nothing to do with any of this.”“Is that so?..”Alan took a deep breath to control his anger, because knowing the kind of person Hugh was, one wrong word could make matters worse.Roy was staring intently at his u
Roy stayed in his car, crying. He couldn’t understand what turn his life was taking. A month ago was peaceful and everything was going fine, besides the fact that he didn’t have a mate. But now, his life is a mess, and with everything that has been going on, he had no doubt that he was crazy.Just a while ago, he would’ve killed one of his own, after years of promising he wouldn’t do such a thing. He wished he could get this guilt off his chest, but he couldn’t because, the more he thought about what he did, the more he felt disappointed in himself.John reminded him a lot of himself when he lost his sister. The grief he went through was so intense that at one point, he felt like dying, but thanks to his uncle, he couldn’t do it and now, he feels terrible for almost sending one of his own to an early grave just because he hit him.He should’ve understood that the man was g
“Do you really have to go?” Kimberly nervously asked as she watched Roy put on a black t-shirt. She dreaded the idea from the moment the words came out of his lips hours ago.“Please, don’t go.” She pleaded when she got no response to her previous question, which only meant one thing.“I have to.” He replied confirming her fears.Kimberly didn’t like the idea. There was an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach, like something terrible was going to happen.“Please Roy, I don’t want to lose you.” She was already in tears. Why was he acting like this wasn’t much of a deal when she could feel an unbearable pain in her chest.Taken aback by her sudden change in reaction. Roy stopped what he was doing on his phone and went to her. She had her back against his bedroom door as sh
“Alpha, they are here.” Donald announced, gaining Hugh’s attention as he was pretty deep in thoughts.Hugh could already perceive their scents, but the one he yearned for was missing, making his wolf feel on edge.“Bring them in.” he finally replied and in a matter of seconds they were making their way into his office.“You surprised me, cousin. I thought you were going to bring your whole army… I guess I underestimated you.” He mocked, his brown orbs glaring at Roy’s grey ones.“We are here to talk, not fight.” Alan said, putting an end to the glaring contest between the two Alphas.“Where is she?” Hugh asked, trying his best to sound calm but was failing terribly.“You crossed my territory and killed two of my own. That was out of line, Hugh.” Roy hissed
Roy was driving back to his pack when he noticed something ahead. He drove closer and realized that it was a fallen tree. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, wondering how it got there, because it wasn’t there when he and Alan drove past earlier.“How did this get here?” he murmured, bringing his car to a halt.Something wasn’t right, he could feel it. He climbed out of his car and looked at his surrounding. Nothing seemed out of place, besides the fallen tree, so why does he feel like something or rather someone was staring at him. Maybe he was overreacting, he concluded, reaching for his phone. There was no call or text from his uncle.‘I just hope he’s okay' he mentally said, returning his phone to his back pocket. He looked around one last time and decided that it was time to leave. Just as he was about to open the door to his car, someo
Kimberly followed behind as Roy’s unconscious body was being carried into the house, with tears rolling down her cheeks.“Roy, honey. Is that- oh my goodness! What happened?!” Christine explained coming out of the kitchen where she had been making dinner to distract herself from worrying over the meeting between Roy, Alan and Hugh as Kimberly was in no state to do anything.Elijah explained what happened to his mom. Without any further questions, she hurried into the bathroom to get a first aid kit, a bowl of water and a towel.Kimberly followed them into Roy’s bedroom. They placed his unconscious body on the bed. She settled herself beside him, stroking his hair as she sobbed.“What about your father. Why isn’t he with Roy?” Christine asked the moment she returned back to the room, immediately resuming to clean Roy’s wounds.
