Kimberly took gentle steps as she climbed down the stairs because she was a little nervous, wondering if Ian was mad at her for forgetting about the party.
She saw Ian typing away in his phone, as the living room came into view. She stood at the end of the staircase and let out a heavy sigh before speaking up to make her presence known.
“I’m ready.” She said, earning Ian’s attention.
Kimberly noticed the way Ian stared at her for a few seconds before composing himself. He had a look of admiration in his eyes, but quickly shook it off because of his stupid pride.
Kimberly hated the fact that Ian let’s his pride get the best of him. She didn’t care anymore if he was going to compliment her or not, she just wanted them to get everything over and done with, so she could come back home and get some rest because today has been one heck of a dra
Kimberly stared at Mr. Gareth with confusion written all over her face. How did he notice? Was it that obvious?“If you don’t feel comfortable talking here, we can go outside.” he suggested, making Kimberly realize that she can’t find her way out of this one, because Mr. Gareth wasn’t willing to drop the subject.Although, Kimberly is open with both of Ian’s parents, she doesn’t know how Ian would react if he found out she told his dad about their fight, but she desperately needed someone to talk to at the moment, so she nodded in agreement and they left the party.Kimberly and Mr. Gareth walked out of the house through the back door and arrived at the pool area. She felt herself relax as she was now in the fresh air, away from the crowd. It made her feel as if she had nothing to worry about, which was far from the truth but she couldn’t help it, she al
The ride home was equally quiet, making Kimberly’s thoughts drift back to her conversation with Mr. Gareth. She could tell, he still felt guilty and remorseful for his past choices. She feels very sorry for him because the hands of time can’t be turned back to change one’s decisions made in the past, so one has to make the most of every opportunity that presents itself in the present. With that final thought, Kimberly knew what her decision was. She took a glance at Ian, whose full concentration was on the road. His facial features looked stressed, which made him look a little older than he was.She couldn’t blame him for looking exhausted, his mom made him greet all the guests, who had many questions to ask.She turned her eyes back to her side of the window, so he doesn’t catch her staring. They finally got home. I
Kimberly decided to pay her dad a visit the next day. She woke up pretty early, leaving a sleeping Ian at home. She knew he could take care of himself when he wakes up, so she only wrote a short note, telling him where she was. She would’ve loved to wait until he wakes up to give him a morning kiss but she couldn’t risk wasting any more minute so as not to miss her dad because she really needed to talk to him, even if it was a five minute conversation.Okay, that’s a pretty short timing but you can’t blame her though, she desperately needed to see her dad before he leaves for work. She hopes she makes it in time. The thought of calling both her dad and fiancé's place her home brought a smile to her face. She was grateful she could proudly call both places home, she wouldn’t want it any other way. Two blocks away from her destination, Kimberly spotted her da
Kimberly returned home that afternoon, after having lunch with her dad, feeling really awful for lying to him. She hoped this would be the only time she gets to hide something from him.“Hey babe, you’re back.” Ian greeted her with a light kiss the moment she walked into the living room.“Baby, what’s wrong?” He worriedly asked when he noticed the sad look she wore.“I lied to my dad about the trip, Ian. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him the truth.” Kimberly explained and broke down in tears.Ian felt terrible for this. If he hadn’t been so upset about her refusal to join him on the trip, she wouldn’t have been under any pressure to please him, at the expense of disobeying her dad.“Baby, I’m so-““I need a nap.” She cut him off and headed up
“I’m going to miss you so much, Dad.” Kimberly said to her dad over the phone.“Me too honey. Promise you’ll give me a call everyday?” her dad said in his lovely fatherly voice.Kimberly couldn’t deny his request even when she was aware of the fact that it won’t be possible.“I'll try to do that.” she replied, feeling bad for making an impossible promise. She had no idea if there was going to be signal where they’ll be camping.“Okay sweetheart. Have a safe trip and say hello to Ian.”“I will dad. Please take good care of yourself until I get back.” she pleaded, with much concern in her voice.Kimberly could hear her dad’s laughter at the other end of the phone, making her internally roll her eyes. She knew her dad was only laughi
As Simon drove further away from the lively parts of California, Kimberly couldn’t help but feel nervous; this was her first time going on such an adventurous trip, so she couldn’t help but worry because she had no idea what to expect.“Hey, are you okay?” Ian quietly asked, giving her hand a light squeeze.“yeah.” She replied, forcing a smile. The silence was short-lived by noises coming from the back. Leo and his girlfriend Amber were having a heated make out session at the back of the van, not caring about the rest.“Guys, keep it down. Will you.” Simon said with a chuckle in an attempt to stop the couple, but he was completely ignored. This brought a smile to Kimberly’s face, she admired how open and carefree these friends were around each other, as the others went on with their business like something awkward wasn’t
Kimberly was impressed with the cabin once she got inside. It was simple and had a homey touch to it. There was a fireplace in the living room to keep them warm at night, two sofas and a recliner which can certainly accommodate the six of them comfortably, a small dinning room close to the living room and then there is a kitchen.A staircase led to the bedroom. Luckily, there were three bedrooms which was a huge relief for Kimberly who had thought they would be sharing a room or two. The room was simple with nothing special, just a bed, a nightstand on each side of the bed, a table and chair across the bed.Everything in the cabin was made of wood. Maybe this wasn’t a bad idea after all, Kimberly thought to herself. While staring at the room, trying to take in every detail, she realized there was nowhere to charge a phone, but, that wasn’t even the weirdest part of Kimberly’s discovery. She also found out that there
Roy was driving home after a long day at the office. He was completely stressed out and was in great need of a long shower and his bed. That was all he needed at the moment. But was that all he really needed? His thoughts wandered back to the murmurings he heard earlier today. Flashback“After all these years, he still hasn’t found his mate.” A woman murmured to her friend as Roy walked out of the pack house.“I mean… why is he still mateless? It’s not like he lost her at some point or something.” The woman continued.“I think he’s cursed.” The other woman replied. If Roy wasn’t already used to those kind of comments, he would have reacted to what he just
