25: Desperate Decision

"This meeting is adjourned. Thank you for coming." Ms. White said as she ended the meeting.

I left the meeting room with Gavin in dismay. I am on force leave as long as takes for this issue to clear up. Gavin tried to have the decision overturned, but they were already decided. I can't say that I haven't expected to be punished for it but I didn't think it would be this much. I know they did this to show that they have no favoritism in the company, but I am still devastated. 

"I'm really sorry about this Cath." He said to me and I just smiled weakly at him.

"It's okay Gavin. None of this is your fault, to be honest. You were just being helpful." I said before leaving him and returning to the office.
