"I guess we'll be going Zen, Ceasar. Thank you for the wonderful lunch." Mrs. Landers said as they said their goodbyes after a well-prepared lunch by my parents.
"We'll get going to mom, dad. Still have lots to do and Zab still has an afternoon class." I said, wanting to get out of there. It's already been a long day, and I just want to jump on my bed right now.
"Zoe, can I borrow your car? I'm running late." Zab asked and before I could answer, Grayson, interjected.
"I can give you a ride home, Zoe. So you don't have to circle around." He suggested. I don't know what's going on inside his mind and it got me a bit scared.
"He's right, Zoe. No need to waste fuel by running circles." Mrs. Landers said. I guess I have no choice.
"Sure. Here Zab." I answered giving Zab the keys to my car.
"And you can ride with us, Gallan. Let these two have some alone time." Mrs. Landers continued. I felt a bit awkward about what she just said but, now, I don't
I was right, it was a strange meal. Gavin was silent the whole time as Gabby placed Grayson in a full-on interrogation. Grayson on the other hand is seemingly answering her questions with gusto and I hate him for doing that. "I'll make sure that you'll hear from HR as soon as possible." Gavin said to me before walking away towards his car. "Jealousy doesn't look good on him." Gabby said, rolling her eyes at her brother. "Anyway, it was nice meeting you, Grayson. Hope to see you soon. And Cath, make sure to call me, okay?" I nodded at her. "Yeah! Yeah! Your brother is waiting for you." I said to her, shooing her away. "I better get going, he's a bit in a bad mood, I guess." She said as she ran off to her brother's car. "So, you're telling me that you don't know if that guy likes you." Grayson said as soon as we were left alone. I looked at him, confused about what he was saying. He let out a deep chuckle and then ruffled my hair before
The three of them looked confused as they entered, but when they saw both me and Gavin inside with the higher-ups, they avoided our gaze and followed Ms. White slowly to the remaining empty chairs. "I should have known." I heard Gavin whisper beside me. "Why are they here?" I asked him. "I have an idea, but I'm not yet sure. Let's just wait." He whispered back, so I just dropped the topic. "Now that we are all here, let's start." Ms. De Lara said as soon as the two sat down. "Do all of you know why you have been called here today?" both me and Gavin nodded but the two just remain silent. "Okay, first things first. Ms. Aragon, on behalf of the company, we are very sorry for the inconvenience that this matter has given you over the past week and we are really happy to have you back."Ms. Gomez said as she started the meeting. "On the other hand, the three of you have some explaining to do." Mr. Tanner said. "Hold up Luis,
The song started and I couldn't believe his choice of song. It was a love song, more appropriately, a confession song. I knew this because it was the same song I sang for my first crush, Caleb when we were in high school. It's been a while since I heard this song. Gosh, the nostalgia. Our attention was then all focused on Gavin as we waited for the first verse to start. And when it did, my jaw almost hit the floor. And I wasn't the only one, I looked around and saw that everybody, except Gabby, was in awe as Gavin continued singing. His deep voice was so smooth that he can pull off the song so well, even the high notes. He sang with so much emotion that I can't help but be carried away by his singing. It makes me think that he means every word and that he's really confessing his feelings to someone, right at that moment. I couldn't take my eyes off of him and when he reached the bridge of the song, my eyes caught his. He held my gaze as he continued singing,
After a few hours of working, I heard a lot of buzzing and whispering coming from all over the office. I looked up from my computer to see what the commotion was all about and saw that Belle and Margareth just returned from their meeting with HR. I followed them with my eyes, then suddenly, Belle met my gaze. If looks could kill, I would definitely be dead right now.She glared at me for a while before turning her back on me and started rummaging through her desk as our co-workers surrounded them. I got back to work to avoid any more conflicts with them but still, I could feel that I was being watched. I tried zoning out and just ignoring them, but I can't say that I wasn't bothered at all. I was so focused on my work that I didn't even notice that Andrea was already beside me. "They're leaving early." She whispered under her breath as she leaned closer to me. "What happened to them?" I asked her. "They wouldn't tell anybody." She answered. I slo
"They didn't come for work." Andrea said to me as we were having lunch. "Belle and Margareth?" I asked and she nodded at me. "Maybe their punishment was the same as mine. Indefinite leave?" I answered her. "Maybe. Haven't you heard anything from Gavin? Or HR?" she asked and I just shook my head. "I haven't, but what I'm really curious about is who sent the anonymous email to them?" I admitted to her and she nodded in agreement. "It's just a bit scary that whoever did that might do it again, and as Gavin said, maybe he was the main target, not me." I said to Andrea. "It really bothers you?" She asked and I just nodded. "Well, we need more info if we're gonna find out who started all of these, but we need some help." Andrea said, giving me a look that makes me a lot nervous. And I had all the right to be nervous. This was what she meant when she said, we needed some help. We're here right now, in Andrea's living room, eat
Awkward seems to be an understatement in describing the atmosphere around the five of us. Gabby and Andrea were whispering to each other in one corner of the room while Grayson does his very best to simultaneously hack Belle's laptop and annoy Gavin. And slowly, Grayson's remarks seem to finally have an effect on Gavin. "Have any idea who might go to this lengths for you?" Grayson asked as he plugged in one of his hard drives to the company laptop that Belle used. "If I have any idea who did it then we wouldn't be here right now." Gavin answered with a slight sass and annoyance in his voice. "Dude, chill. I'm just asking." Grayson said with a smirk on his face. He's really enjoying pissing Gavin off. "Can you just do the hacking, please." I asked him and he just winked at me again. What has gotten into him? He's been like this all night. Since Gavin came back, Grayson would act all sweet and cringy. "I'm already doing it, but it go
We cleaned up our things and immediately went to Gavin's apartment building to see if we could find anything about this Nancy. "I have something to do today, but I'll dig into it. I'll let you know if something comes up. Good luck." Grayson said as all of us got out of the building to the parking lot. "Thanks, Grayson. You really did me a solid." I said to him as we stopped in front of his car. "No problem, Zoe. I'll do anything for you." He replied pulling me into a tight hug. "What are you doing?" I whispered to him and I could hear his smirk. "Just go with it. Soon enough, Mr. Bossman will explode with jealousy." He whispered to me. "You're laying it on too thick. Don't you think?" I asked and forcefully pulled away from him. He chuckled in response and I just shook my head. "See you later, Grayson." Andrea said, getting into Gavin's car. "Good luck, guys." He said, waving goodbye to us and also getting into hi
The car continued spinning out of control, I closed my eyes in fear, then I felt a strong crash and I was jerked forward. My head hit my steering wheel and I slowly opened my eyes. I was still alive. Thank goodness. I tried sitting upright and when I did, I saw that my car hit a tree that was near the sidewalk. I hope nobody got hurt. I looked around, but I didn't see the car that swerve in front of me anywhere. I guess they ran.I could feel my eyes getting heavier by the second. I reached for the lock on my seatbelt and took it off. I slowly tried moving and I heard a tap from my window. I slowly looked out of the window and saw an older guy tapping it. I heard a muffled 'Are you okay?' from him and I slowly nodded.I opened my car door and thankfully, he caught me before I fell to the concrete road. I could hear a lot of mumbles around me but I couldn't focus on any one of them."The ambulance is on its way." I heard the man say to me as he tried his be
