74: The Blood Pact In The Darkness

LISA’S POV

Engulfed by an abyss of darkness, I awoke to a chilling familiarity that had become a haunting reality in my life. Was this the cold embrace of death? Uncertainty gnawed at the edges of my consciousness as I tried to recall where I was.

The icy floor beneath me bit into my back, each jagged pebble serving as a cruel reminder of my harsh situation. The memory of Jonas, the beast who had cornered me back in the dimly lit hallway earlier, flickered like a lone candle before the world around me was plunged into an unfathomable darkness.

A fever, as searing as a brand on my neck, throbbed with a rhythm that echoed through my veins, causing my body to convulse in its grip. My fever was getting worse, I could feel it. Damn Asher and his stupid wolf bite.

With a forced effort, I pushed myself into a sitting position. My vision blurred, the world tilting on its axis as I staggered blindly in search of an escape, only to meet the unforgiving solidity of a wall.
