Ace’s POV

Stan’s hand was firm but respectful as he guided Dennise away who was confused. She threw one last look over her shoulder, confusion clouding her features, but I didn’t answer it. I couldn’t. Because in this moment, only one thing mattered.

When the last sound of their footsteps faded, the world shrank until it was only her and me.

Her eyes, goddess, those eyes, were glassy with tears she refused to shed, and they cut through me like razors. She looked at me as though she had waited a lifetime for this moment, only to have it crumble in her hands.

“I…” The word stuck in my throat, foreign, heavy. I was the Tsar of the Russian Mafia; I never faltered, never stammered. But with her, everything I thought I controlled slipped. Two mates? This is impossible

My wolf pressed harder, practically whimpering.

“Talk to her. Claim her. Fix this before she walks away.”

I took a step forward, my voice dropping lower, rougher, as I finally forced the words out.

“What’s your name?” I dema

Dennise's Point of View“I’m not a Hunter!” I snapped, my voice trembling but fierce. “I never chose this. I was given assignments. I followed orders. I didn’t even know they were werewolves-”“Lies.” She leaned closer, her teeth bared, her wolf practically snarling behind her words. “Your hands are drenched in our blood. My mother’s. My pack’s. And now you think you can sit here in Ace’s house, in my mate’s house, as if you belong?”My breath stuttered, shame and fear clawing at me.“I didn’t know,” I whispered again, desperate, broken. “I swear, I didn’t know.”Her smirk was cruel, triumphant, though her eyes glistened with restrained fury. “Then tell me, Dennise… what will Ace do when he finds out? When he learns that the woman in his bed, the one he’s been letting too close, is a Hunter?”My blood turned cold.“He’ll tear you apart,” she continued, her voice silk over steel. “Or maybe he’ll toy with you first. Use you until the disgust outweighs the desire. And then? You’ll wish

Dennise Point of ViewHessa’s grip tightened on my wrist until it almost hurt. Her amber eyes glowed hotter, sharper, like molten gold ready to burn me alive.“Hessa?” I asked her, confused. “March 9, 2000. At La Luna’s household. You killed a kind and loving woman and a mother of two girls,” she said, her voice full of venom. I froze. The air in my lungs froze.“What?” My brows knit, my voice shaking. “What do you mean?”Her lip curled, her stare never wavering. “So you want to play dumb?”My stomach churned. The name La Luna scraped something deep in my memory, but not clearly. In Cross, we were never told who we killed. Just names, times, places. The rest was unnecessary. Emotions only made the blade heavy. But still… her words pierced something sharp and raw inside me.“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I whispered, though the tremor in my voice betrayed me.Hessa leaned closer, her breath warm against my face, her anger practically sipping beneath her skin. “Don’t lie

Dennise’s point of viewThe moment Ace dismissed me, my chest tightened with something I had no name for.“Stan. Take Dennise back to her room.”The words were sharp, carrying the weight of command I had heard countless times in his voice but this time, they ached. I had just given him my heart, my body, everything I was. And in the moment, he turned me away.Confusion churned inside me as Stan led me through the endless hallways of the Cave. My steps faltered more than once, my mind replaying the moment over and over. Ace hadn’t even looked at me when he said it. His eyes… they had been locked on her. That woman.“Who’s she?” I asked Stan who was just walking behind me. He shrugged. “I don’t know. The Tsar’s business isn’t mine,” he replied, arrogant as ever. I knew he should know since he’s Ace’s best friend. When we finally arrived at the door of my room, Stan told me not to stick my nose in someone else’s business. Ace doesn't want that. I nodded as I entered my room. But so

Dennise point of ViewAs I was about to pour myself a glass of brandy I stole from Ace’s bar, my phone rang, a video call. I looked at the caller and saw it was Valentina. I grinned my teeth and cursed under my breath before I picked it up and answered. I saw her leaning against the window, ear pod on her ears. “Dennise,” she said in an authoritative voice. “You failed to send a report. Care to explain?” I gulped. “Valentina, I thought the mission was on hold?”“The higher ups ordered it to resume.”“But-” she didn’t let me finish what I was supposed to say.Valentina walked towards wherever she wanted to go. Her heels clicked sharply against the polished marble floor, it was resonating and I could even hear it. She was direct to the point woman and she doesn’t do bullshit. She had always been like this, my superior, my handler. The secretary of Cross, the one who gave orders and no questions asked. “Dennise.” Her tone was flat, unforgiving. “You’ve been silent for too long. It's

  • To Rule the Tsar Alpha's Heart   Chapter 40: Two mates

Ace’s Point of viewMy study was quiet except for the ticking of the grandfather clock and the faint crackle of the fire. I had buried myself in reports and contracts, trying to drown out the chaos in my chest. Trying to silence the wolf that had been restless since we had tasted Dennise. “Go to her! Claim her again! I want our mate!” My wolf demanded. I rolled my eyes as if the work I already put aside would magically be done. “Can’t,” I replied. “My work has already piled up and I have a guest to arrive today,” I added. “Work! Work! Always work. We need our mate. I need her in our arms. Don’t you understand?” He demanded, making me sigh. “Nah, you only want to be in between her legs.”He growled and I shut him up. My wolf was a demanding bastard which I hated about him.I was back reading some report when the door creaked open, and the moment the familiar scent hit my nose, my wolf’s mouth watered and the thing between my legs hardened, making me curse under my breath. Dennise
