Chapter Fifteen

I felt more like myself when I climbed out of the bath and put on some fresh clothes.  Kenton must have heard me moving about because when I reached the main floor, he was waiting outside on the front lawn for me with both Maximillian and Roger tacked and ready to go.

The night air felt cool on my still damp skin and I shuddered.  Kenton reminded me that fall was upon us and that the nights could get particularly cold.  Upon his suggestion, I scooted back inside and tied a hoodie around my waist by its arms.  It was better to be safe than sorry.

It had only been a few months for me since I’d ridden Roger, but to Roger, it had been a few years.  His enthusiastic response to seeing me was heart wrenchingly wonderful.  Once again, my tears flowed and I had to excuse myself for being overly emotional.
