Chapter Seventeen : A Delicacy Indeed

This ain't right…

A heavy sigh broke the deafening silence inside the presidential office of the highest skyscraper in Houston.

He stood tall, facing the floor-to-ceiling window, but his gaze was elsewhere, oblivious to the beautiful sight of the entire city glistening in the night, mirroring the night sky that was shining brightly due to the million stars.

His hands were clenched inside his pockets. His coat was disheveled, and so was his hair. His brow furrowed, and his eyes were lost. A glimpse of a man, who has not slept yet for the whole night.

Taking another heavy breath, he turned and walked toward his table. He halted in front of the scattered documents. The reports that were given to him the other day.

His gaze was drawn to the woman he had never met before. His jaw tightened as he witnessed her intimate relationship with the man he knew so well.

He massaged his temples as he gazed up at the ceiling.
