She brings Liam to meet Jessica

★★★

Liam chuckled as he looked at the boy with sudden amazement because, up until this point, he had never found talking to children to be interesting. Everywhere he went, he made sure to let the people know that he needed a place away from families, especially away from children.

The youngster in front of him, however, had a magnetization that made him want to speak with him, and those grey eyes were exactly like his own.

Cornell suddenly felt a little awkward when he noticed how the man was looking at him as though he was an alien worth marveling at. He turned to leave after drying his hand.

“What is your name, kid?” Liam asked in a daze.

Cornell stopped in his track and turned his head a little to answer, “My mother will come to the men's toilet if I make her wait any longer. Thank you, sir."

Cornell went out and Liam furrowed his brows because his question got ignored such deftly by a kid that he was spellbound. He followed him to see where he was going. The restaurant was expensive for regular people to eat there, so it eventually was less crowded.

Because he was so eager to see the mother and son, Liam had no idea how absurd it was that he was trying to follow a boy.

When he came out, he paid close attention to the boy who made his way to the corner, where a woman was sitting. In the yellow light, she appeared young, with smooth skin and red lips that only accentuated her beauty.

Liam had always been an unromantic and cold person, which made romantic feelings for Rilika even more difficult, and it had now turned into a headache that he desperately needed to get rid of.

Although his face was icy, he was watching them with interest.

“What took you so long in the toilet?” Jessica casually questioned as she typed something on her phone.

“Yet faster than the food you have ordered," Cornell said and drank the water from the glass that was served a couple of minutes ago by a waiter.

“I can hear your stomach growling,” Jessica chuckled, shifting her face to her son.

“Yes,” Cornell made a pout face.

Rilika, on the other hand, was looking for Liam. She retouched her face with makeup to conceal her ruined appearance. She walked to the men's restroom when she noticed Liam standing outside, looking straight. She followed it until she came across Jessica and a child's back.

Her heart thumped as if the fear honked right in front of her ears. She unknowingly wiped the sweat from the side of her neck.

Rilika's mind did not know if Liam had already met them but her eyes could see he was staring at them that obviously for a reason.

She bit her bottom lip in anger towards Jessica and her son. She had no way of knowing if that was Liam's seed, but if it was, she would take steps to ensure that Liam would never find out for the rest of his life.

Rilika walked up to Liam who still hadn't felt her presence until Rilika hugged his waist.

“Babe, please pardon me for the inconvenience I caused you by not caring about your decision, but I now understand. Everything will go according to your wish.”

Liam turned her attention away from them and focused on Rilika and her hand around his waist. The warmth he had been experiencing while watching the mother and son a moment ago evaporated and suddenly a dullness crept into his heart.

Only then he understood he could not force himself any longer to be with Rilika but he did not want her to do something out of the line. with a deep breath, he decided to talk to her slowly.

“Let's avoid drawing attention to ourselves, which I detest. We should heed to our place,” Liam said as he pushed Rilika's arms away from his waist.

Rilika felt that distance but her smile made a great layer on her anger that not only deceived him but also made her heart more solid.

“I know. But I just saw my sister here. I haven't met her since she got back. Will you come with me?" Rilika invited Liam to meet Jessica, whom Liam was staring at. Despite knowing who the sister was, Liam did not even look at Jessica in Rilika's words because Rilika would make things complicated.

“I would prefer to be seated in our private room as I don't think my presence is required for the meeting with your sister. Go ahead and talk to her. I can wait for you for a while,” Liam said while maintaining a neutral expression as his eyes moved to the entrance to their private room.

“Please, Liam, she is my dear sister. For this moment only! I will not ask you again, please!” With her hand firmly grasping the cuff of his white shirt, Rilika begged him not to leave.

After a brief exhalation, Liam nodded. Rilika offered a smile before taking Liam to the table where Jessica and Cornell enjoying their dinner.

“Best Salmon fillet I am eating,” Cornell said as his fork picked up a small piece of salmon and the broccoli.

“I told you,” Jessica replied nonchalantly.

Cornell smiled and continued eating.

Jessica dialed a number and placed it in her ears when suddenly she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

“Jess, oh my god!” Rilika cried out as she stopped in front of the table. Jessica put the phone down and her cold eyes stared at the person gloomily.

“Rilika!! It's wonderful to see you again. How did you end up at my table?"

Jessica became irritated right away but quickly controlled it because she didn't want her son to know how she felt about Rilika if he did, he would start asking questions and wouldn't stop until he had the answers.

“I haven't met you yet because I no longer live in Lawrence Manor. Furthermore, I bring someone with me to get acquainted with you," Rilika said to Jessica as she cast her gaze behind her, and Jessica followed.

Jessica and Liam both experienced a slow, hazy sensation in their hearts as their cold eyes met. Prior to this meeting, they had never seen each other face but right now they were unsure of the reason behind their growing desire to talk to one another.

But then Rilika spoke, “He is the love of my life, Liam Grey.” Rilika coiled her arm around Liam's.
