Marsai
“What have I done? Marsai, what misery have you brought upon yourself?”If only I had known, I wouldn't have saved this monster. I would have reported him to my father right away! This was all my fault. If only I had been smart enough… if only I had been obedient...if only I had stayed at home… But there is no room for 'ifs' anymore. The deed has been done and now I'm left to live in regrets of what I had done…or what I could have done.It was a bizarre sensation, an overwhelming urge to both laugh and scream at the same time. Though screaming was difficult with my hoarse throat, I wanted to laugh at my immediate misfortune and scream at my own foolishness.Look at me, wasn't it enough that I was mateless? Already doomed to be lonely for the rest of my life, now, I'm not only mateless, I'm now an orphan. An orphan at the mercy of this deranged werewolf. An orphan who had played a part in her parent's death!“Are you happy now, universe? Have you cursed me enough to your satisfaction?”I gazed up at him, my body weakened as I sat on the ground. How I longed to rip that face apart with my paws, to dip my hands into his naked chest and squeeze out his merciless heart. Though I had never taken a life before, the intensity of my hatred made me crave his gruesome demise at my hands. Yet, I found myself helpless, unable to act upon my desire. Why? Because I was weak and my wolf was even weaker. If my parents couldn't even get a scratch on him, who was I to stand a chance?Tears streamed down my face as I looked upon the lifeless, bloodied corpses of my parents once more. “I'm so sorry. This is all because of me.”My 18th birthday has turned out to be the worst day of my very existence.Dragging my eyes away from them, my gaze traveled to the werewolf who was still standing at the door in shock. Rudolph. He was still staring at the murderer behind me. I had just told him that this person was responsible for the massacres of half of our Pack members and my parents.Maybe he could save me.Rudolph was the Beta of our Pack, second in command to my father—he will save me because I was too scared to move from where I sat at this murderer’s feet. It had taken blind courage to even get this close to him in an effort to hit him and now—I couldn't move an inch.My eyes locked with Rudolph’s and I knew he could sense the desperation in my gaze. Randolph bravely confronted the monster with a fierce growl, attempting to intimidate him. Unfortunately, his efforts fell short.A bone-chilling sound echoed behind me, causing my heart to jump. Even Rudolph and everyone present flinches, recognizing his monstrosity again.“Was that supposed to be the growling of a wolf or the devil?”I looked back at Rudolph and the look on his face spoke volumes. He had changed his mind about trying to attack the madman behind me. The expression on his face gave him away, even an idiot wouldn't dare to go against this monster.“Marsai, come,” Rudolph said to me, extending his hands. My eyes moved to him but I hesitated, afraid to move or even glance back, fearing the piercing gaze of the monstrous creature.“Come, Marsai,” he urged once more. With a gulp, I began crawling towards Rudolph.“Maybe If I could reach him fast enough, we could run away.”I was still edging towards him when I felt someone step right in front of me. Dear heavens!I glanced up, meeting the piercing gaze of those dark eyes that seemed to peer into my very soul. For the first time since we met, he spoke, asking, “Where do you think you're going?” Oh, no!“Let me go…” I mustered, unsure if he heard me.“Please,” I heard Rudolph say, “don't hurt her”The monster let out a sinister chuckle, his smile sending shivers down our spines. To our astonishment, he swiftly lifted me off the ground, his strong arm securing me tightly around the waist.“What are you doing!” I gasped in shock, fright coursing through me. “How dare he touch me!”“Hey!” Rudolph exclaimed, taking a panicked step closer to me.“Do you dare move?” He warned, his voice filled with menace and malevolence.Rudolph and I stood frozen. I stopped trying to get away from his grasp and Rudolph didn't dare take another step, it didn't matter if it wasn't me he was talking to—I didn't dare to move. Dear, lord! He sounded like the devil himself.“Don't even think about taking her away from me,” he continued in his deep menacing voice, “no one touches my woman.”“Huh? What was that? Did I hear him correctly? His woman…?” Who is his woman?I bet even Rudolph was taken aback by what he heard. Who wouldn't be shocked? What the hell is this insane man saying?“Wo…woman?” Rudolph echoed, his green eyes flicking back to me from the lifeless bodies on the floor.“Yes,” the monster said, his grip tightening around me. “Marsai,” he said, dragging my name in his bone-chilling voice, “is now my woman and will be my wife.”“What the fuck?!” My eyes would've practically popped out of my head if they could.I spun around to lock eyes with him, but his gaze fixed on Rudolph, as if challenging him to oppose. And, as expected, Rudolph didn't dare to oppose him.I couldn't believe what was happening right now. “Was I so hated by the universe? By the heavens?” How could th…this lunatic expect me to marry him after he murdered my parents in cold blood? Is he completely out of his insane mind? And why is Rudolph just standing there, accepting it all? Isn't he the Beta of our pack?“Say something, Rudolph! Please, don't let me marry this monster!”What an eventful night I'm having. First, I stupidly saved a stranger, who in turn murdered my parents and was now forcing me to be his wife. Wow, just incredible. And just look at Rudolph, look at him! He can't even say a word, nothing. Some Beta he is.“Well then…” Rudolph's words finally broke the tense silence, and both I and the monster leaned in, curious about his next words. “If that's what you want... my lord,” he stammered, clearing his throat. “I'll have the servants start the preparation.”“Preparation? What preparation?” My eyes widened in absolute shock. He's kidding, right?Marsai's POV “Yes, child. To be specific, it is coming from inside of you.” He pointed to my belle. I stared at my own goddamn stomach. It looked just fine to me from the layers of clothes I was wearing. Then I looked back at him. There was nothing to say or do than to stare at each other for quite some time. I sighed and slouched my back, tired of the repetitive problems that kept coming after me. Everyone just did what they wanted to do to me without caring for the consequences. Why? Was it because I was too available or my heart was good to a fault? “Why is this happening to me..” I almost choked from the lump of tears that slipped down my right cheek. Why was it that I just had to be crowned with the edge of bad timing? Once again, there was no one to blame but Fenrir. In a flip second, Imon was up on his feet, sitting next to me. A comforting hand rubbed gently against my back as I felt him lower his head closer to my ears. “Don't be sad, child. You should feel honored.
Marsai's POV “Because You think loudly with your body...Just like Namilla.” He mentioned, staring me straight in the eye. “I never knew Namilla on a personal level, she was good to me and she taught me to see the good in everyone regardless of the evil in the world.” I replied without stuttering. All of these things were true. When my father rescued Namilla even against the wishes of his fellow comrades, he brought her back not just to the infirmary but to the private infirmary that was unique to the Alpha quarters. I was only but a child, so I had no idea who she was, or why the maids and doctors walked on eggshells when they were around her. It was said to be the first time anyone from my Pack has seen a real-life witch aside from all of the folktales we were told about the other creatures of the Dark around us. I decided to personally spend time with Namilla. At first, she was grungy and wouldn't say a word for an entire day while I would tell her all the details of my play d
Marsai's POV “Are you ready to see our leader now?” Grace asked. Her hands folded elegantly in front of her, her expression once again, very stoic that it brought down the temperature around me. I nodded because my tongue felt like it was glued to the roof of my mouth. I took in the scenery around me, the white light and the distant crack in the bonfire who's glow could be spotted from here. If this was my last night here, I would definitely not regret this moment. “This way…” she ushered me up front first before joining me by my side. We walked in silence.I used my Hunter prey technique but I realized that Grace's foot never made a sound as we walked. “It's the moss.” Grace chuckled, shaking her head side to side. “What?” I asked her, feeling even more confused.“You were wondering why our feet weren't making any noise. Well, it is the moss. They are said to be great sound shock absorbers.”I would be lying if I said that I heard every word she said, all I kept wondering was
Marsai's POV We exited the tent and stepped outside. A teenage boy came towards us with a cup filled with water and a small bowl of milk. He gave it to Grace and then gave me a once-over. Curiosity shone clear in his orbs. I was sure it was because he could tell I wasn't from around here so he left gingerly, joining a group of kids that resembled his age range. “That's Ace. He is 12, yet he practices magic spells twice his age. His parents died when he was four from the witch hunt attack by delusional humans…” Grace told me as she handed the cup of water over to me. A lot of questions filled up my head. One was, why was she telling me all of this? Two, did I need to know that piece of information and why was it important? But all of that could wait. I had water to drink from a cup I knew was not gonna be enough and milk from a bowl or the fact that I didn't need to wear any sandals because there was a soft moss carpet that ran through the entire area around me. The entire place f
Marsai's POV Fenrir…Just mentioning his name made me understand that I was really capable of hate. My father's words echoed in my head. “Hate and love aren't on the opposite side. In fact, they follow each other. If you love someone enough to not hate them, you can hate someone enough and still love them. Both emotions come hand in hand because if you love how they make you feel, you would eventually come to hate how they make you feel.” Then, of course it made zero fucking sense. How could you love and hate simultaneously? Now I understand it. Even as the last images of Fenrir punching a hole in Namilla's face terrified me into my sleep, I still in some messed up way managed to see things from his point of view. I shook my head aggressively from side to side. Now isn't the time to be thinking about that monster, you need to get out of here.I reminded myself of my current challenge. I recalled the snakes in the pot and then the unfortunate man who had tricked me with it. The
Elena's POV “Shit…”I looked away as fast as I could, my palm still wrapped around his warm moist cock. I could feel my entire inside melting into a goo of confusion. The center of my legs began to feel hot and moist. “Elena, you can let go of my shaft now.” I heard him say in one of the most monotonous voices I have ever heard. “I'm so so-” “Don't make it any more awkward than it already is. But before that, first things first, why are you here? Who asked you to come here?” Fenrir didn't blink or stutter. His cold voice caused a ripple of fear and anxiety to dress up my spine down to my arm. “No-no one…” I fidgeted. His stans didn't waver as he only came closer to me, his glare becoming more menacing than ever. “I don't stutter. I also don't like to delay my victim's death so when I ask you a question, do not stutter and tell me the answer like it is or I would end up slapping your head off your neck till your skull is gliding in a pool of your own blood.” His cold demeanor onl
