Ella’s POV

My body felt weak as I let Hunter carry me back to the bed. The power that surged between the two of us overwhelmed all my senses in my body. Never did I imagine that mating with Hunter would feel so amazing. It was nothing like what happened between Caleb and me. Where pain was with Caleb only love and desired coursed through me with Hunter. Hunter brought ecstasy to every single molecule of my being and the mate bond intensified every single touch and emotion that coursed through me.

As I lay in the bed with Hunter’s protective arms wrapped around me like a cocoon, I let my mind wander back to what just happened. A shiver runs down through my body as Hunter pulls me in tighter wrapping a blanket around us. Little does he know it isn’t from the cold but from the thought that Hunter loved me so much that he was willing to reject me to save my life, renouncing his own happiness to make sure that I lived. A selfless act that once again proved to me that he was my true mate
