Oliver's P. O. V.
Julian's expression all through the ride to my home was sour, and I didn't try to hold any conversation with her.
She was my mate…yes, but that's about it.
I'm in love with another.
Someone stronger, worthy and most importantly from the Royal bloodline.
Hadn't it been for this exhausting ritual, I wouldn't have bothered myself looking for my mate.
When we got to the pack, I went straight to my father's chamber with Julian.
She still hadn't said a single word to me and neither had I.
“Oliver, you're here,” My father said advancing towards me with a warm smile.
“Did you find her?” He asked expectantly.
I took some steps to the right to reveal Julian who was standing right behind me.
She had an unreadable expression on her face, but observing her closer, you could almost see something like contempt in her eyes.
My father stared at her indifferently.
“The ritual is going to take place tomorrow by noon, have you already told her about it?” My father asked, with his gaze fixed on Julian's face.
She still maintained the stern unreadable expression.
Nothing in her demeanor suggested that she was scared.
“She knows,” I replied.
“That's good, you should show her to her chambers then.”
Julian turned to look at me questioningly, but I only nodded acknowledging for her to follow me while I led the way.
I took her to the servants quarters, and opened the door to a room for her to enter.
She did, and I sort to leave, but on second thought just entered the room shutting the door behind me.
Julian looked around before she settled down on the bed, placing her bag beside her.
“If there's anything you need, you can use the telephone on the bedside table and ring the house,” I said and she nodded.
The quietness was becoming awkward, so I decided to leave.
“May I ask a question?” She asked and I stopped walking.
I turned to look at her, and she was already on her feet.
“How old are you?”
Her question came as a shock.
“And why would you be asking of my age?” I asked scrunching my brows in disbelief.
She shrugged.
“No reason, just wanted to know.”
She's unbelievable…
Why would she possibly be asking me that kind of question?
“Well if you must know, I'm twenty and three years of age,” I replied and she nodded.
“Anything else?”
She shook her head and I made to leave.
“The ritual is happening tomorrow, you should be prepared.”
Walking out of her room, I felt a sense of unbalance.
Julian was anything but a regular girl.
She seemed off, oddly provocative, and too headstrong for a commoner.
I headed straight to my chambers.
I met Stephan on the way.
“How's she? Is she settled in?” He asked.
“She's settled,” I replied.
“But I want you to keep a close watch on her.”
“Will do,” Stephan replied.
“I believe you got more problem to worry about. Violet is in your room.”
Fuck!
As much as I'd missed her, I didn't want any of her troubles at the moment.
“Who let her in?”
“Your mum. I've managed not to let her cause a scene, now she's all yours,” Stephan chuckled tapping me lightly on the shoulder.
Sighing, I continued my journey to my quarters.
Violet was laying across, on the bed when I entered.
I shut the door behind me and went to my closet.
“Are you not even going to acknowledge me?” She asked standing up from the bed.
I forced a smile trying to placate her.
“Forgive my manners my lady, I'm just exhausted.”
“Want me to help reduce the tension?”
Her flirty tone and mannerism was duly noted, but I was too exhausted for anything at the moment.
I sighed inwardly.
“I'm tired Violet, it's been a long day,” I explained trying to sound calm.
Her brows narrowed, and her face squeezed with anger.
She walked towards me swaying her hips seductively.
“Is this because of her?” She asked standing in front of me with hands akimbo.
I sighed, and ditched changing.
I took her hands, sat down on a chair close to the large wardrobe, and made her sit on my lap.
“This has nothing to do with her. I already explained it to you, finding my mate would mean nothing to me.”
Violet still had an unpleasant expression on her face.
“Come on babe,” I reached for chin, rubbing it gently.
“We're going to have our moment.”
“Yeah,” She replied as her tight demeanor began to melt.
“And you should know that you can't get rid of me so easily,” She stated, her eyes sparkling with determination.
“I have no intentions to do that,” I replied and she smiled hugging me.
Chapter FiveOliver's P. O. V.The ritual began in the dark underground chamber of our home. Not many members of the ton knew about it.Just selected few members, that have been with my father since the very beginning.According to my father, this ritual began when he overtook the throne from a transgressors female leader. After passing all the necessary challenges, and been accepted by the pack in public, this was the last task, which was done in secrecy. The air of the chamber was thick with the scent of exposed earth and moisture. The walls were adorned with ancient symbols of power and dominance.I've only been here once as a child, and as I stood facing the elders, I was more than ready to prove myself. My father came in and stood at the center of the chamber beside a large stone pedestal on which a glowing Crystal orb laid upon.It was a symbol and legacy of our pack which is believed to contain collective power. It contains the key to unlocking the next Alpha's true potential,

Julian's P. O. V.My mate was a member of the White crescent wolf pack! The same pack that killed my mother and tried to kill me as well! The same pack I've been planning to have my revenge on for years!I brought out an old but still very sharp dagger that was given to me by Mabel's dad a few years after I started living with them.Placing it in my bag, I strapped the bag around me and got out of the house in a manner of urgency. The address he gave to me wasn't too far from where I live.An abandoned hotel at the hilltop mountain.Nobody goes there because it was believed to be haunted.A fake story that I never believed anyway. The cab that I boarded could only take me as far as the end of the road. The rest of the journey had to be on foot.I got off, paid the cab man and hurried on.I sometimes broke into a run, but eventually reached the gate of the hotel.Banging on the gate with all my strength, I screamed Mabel's name. The gate slowly opened and I walked in. It was an automat
***Ten years later***"Did you see what just happened?" Mabel asked me, her heart thumping in her chest."A full grown human turned into an animal!" She exclaimed with the most shocked expression I've ever seen on her."Sshh," I uttered, covering her mouth with my right hand.I dragged her until we were both hiding behind a tree."Where are they?" I heard somebody ask in a rugged voice."We can't risk any human finding out about us. If they've seen us then they have to go."Mabel shrieked at that, but I stifled her mumbling with my hand still clasped over her mouth. Those were werewolves and for as long I remember, werewolves aren't seen in this part of the city.Slowly I removed my hand from Mabel's mouth, giving her the universal of 'keep quiet'.She nodded "We need to run," I whispered and the she nodded again with fright clearly written in her face.We ran for our lives.“We’re dead, Julian. Mrs. Karen is going to KILL us!” Mabel screamed, obviously lost in panic as we ran. “Is
Julian's P. O. V."You have to run! Run Julian and never look back," My mother said, while I held on tightly to her hands. She was badly wounded on the abdomen and blood dripped down freely."No mum, I can't leave you, we can still make it together," I said with teary eyes. She has been wounded so badly that she could no longer shape shift again. And it was practically useless because, we've been rounded up by so many wolf's.Another wolf howl from the distance made my body shriek."No Julian, please get out of here now!" My mother said pushing me off."I'll distract them and buy you time to run."I stared at my mother knowing that if I left I would never see her again."Mom..." I said still holding her hands and crying."Go please, go," She pushed me away. There was loud thumping and rustling of bushes.I ran off, without looking back. With my minimal werewolf ability, I could sense the arrival of some wolves. After reaching a distance and shielding myself by a tree, I saw a wolf bra
