Chapter Five
Oliver's P. O. V.
The ritual began in the dark underground chamber of our home.
Not many members of the ton knew about it.
Just selected few members, that have been with my father since the very beginning.
According to my father, this ritual began when he overtook the throne from a transgressors female leader.
After passing all the necessary challenges, and been accepted by the pack in public, this was the last task, which was done in secrecy.
The air of the chamber was thick with the scent of exposed earth and moisture.
The walls were adorned with ancient symbols of power and dominance.
I've only been here once as a child, and as I stood facing the elders, I was more than ready to prove myself.
My father came in and stood at the center of the chamber beside a large stone pedestal on which a glowing Crystal orb laid upon.
It was a symbol and legacy of our pack which is believed to contain collective power.
It contains the key to unlocking the next Alpha's true potential, but this key is only unlocked with his rightful mate.
It is why I was so desperately in search of my mate, regardless of already having a lover.
"Gentlemen, shall we begin?" My father asked with his hands spread out.
The room hummed in unison, signalling the beginning of the ritual.
The door to the chamber opened up afterward, and Julian appeared in a white silky gown.
She looked around with bewilderment.
Taking slow steps, her eyes continued to scan the whole chamber, shifting from one person to another.
I couldn't tell if she was scared or just spellbound by everything she saw.
When her gaze finally landed on me, she didn't seem to quaver.
Her determination could almost simmer through her stance and stone-face.
When she reached the middle of the chamber, my father signalled for her to stop and she did.
He turned to face the members.
"Brethrens, we're gathered here today to witness yet another power ascension in our prestigious lineage. As it is been done, Oliver is going to mark his mate and together they seek the power of the crystal orb."
He paused to look at me and I gave him a determined gaze.
He nodded and continued.
"With it's power's unlocked, and the last task of the Alpha ascension ritual completed, we can now be rest assured that our lineage will continue to rule with strength and total dominance."
I knew the next step to take.
It was the part where I marked Julian in front of everyone so I stepped out.
With just few steps before I reached her, Julian suddenly backed away.
"Stop!" She screamed at the top of her voice.
The entire room went quiet and everyone's attention was on her.
She took deep breaths and her chest heaved with every breathing.
"I'm not doing this, because I reject you as my mate," she said, and at that moment, I could see pain in her eyes.
But as quickly as they came, they disappeared, replaced by anger.
There were murmurs erupting from the gathering.
I stared unbelievable at Julian.
"I, Julian Edelman, reject you as my mate," She stated out loud with so much contempt emanating from her voice.
There was an even louder murmur from the crowd.
How dare she?
I kept my own end of the bargain, so what was with this sudden change if heart.
"Well, I Oliver Julio, succeeding Alpha of the White Crescent Moon pack, do not accept your rejection."
My voice shook with anger as I said those words.
Whispers rose from the room, but I didn't care.
She doesn't get to reject me.
She has no right to. Not when she is weak, and not even from the Royal bloodline.
"This is going to be a problem," Somebody spoke out.
It was Elder Owens, the short bald man.
"Let us calm down people, I believe this can be easily remedied," my father said trying to bring orderliness to the room.
The whispers reduced abruptly.
My father came close to me and brought his face to my ears.
"I believe you should have a proper talk with her in private. Have her punished if need be, but this ritual must be carried out."
I nodded in affirmation, heading towards Julian.
Grabbing her hand, I pulled her alongside with me, out of the chambers and all the way upstairs until we finally got to a closed room.
"How dare you?" I asked with gritted teeth.
"How dare you embarrass me like that?"
She tugged and pulled to get of my strong grip but it only became tighter.
"I changed my mind," Sh said, defiantly.
I chuckled at her response.
"And whatever made you believe you have a choice?"
She squeezed and tugged her hands again, but this time I finally let her go.
"I'll not be forced into something I don't want," She responded looking me straight in the eye.
Her defiance outraged me, but even moreso, it made me more intrigued by her.
There was something about her looks, the way she speaks and her confidence that doesn't add up.
"I refuse to be yours and your pack's toy. A mere play thing to be used up in a ritual and tossed off."
She tried to walk off, but I reached out and grabbed her by the waist shoving her towards me.
Her hands fell on my chest on impact.
Our gaze met, and we both stood transfixed on the same spot.
I noticed her hazel eyes, and how utterly mesmerizing they were.
She had a white clear skin and a plump rosy lips.
My inside suddenly went wild as I noticed features I'd never noticed before.
Even my wolf couldn't contain the excitement.
Was it the werewolf bond?
I felt so drawn to her, I couldn't take my eyes off her lips.
Her trembling body, and hitched breath suggested she was feeling the same way.
When I leaned in closer, I could almost feel her lift herself up before our lips met.
I kissed her!
The kiss started slowly from her lips, but soon escalated into a passionate fierce clash of lips.
I could feel Julian's resolve melting, replaced by a hunger that was seemingly matching mine.
My hands moved from her waist, to her shoulders and face, wanting to touch everywhere all at once.
My tongue explored all the depths of her mouth while my inside exploded with pleasure.
We eventually broke apart for air, and I could see the fire burning in her eyes.
I took long deep breaths staring down into her hazel green eyes.
"What must I do, to completely break this resolve of yours?" I asked in a raspy voice.
"Make me yours," She replied without breaking eye contact.
"Very well then."
Without hesitation, I leaned in close to her shoulders, and sank my teeth into them.
She shuddered beneath me, but I supported her frame with my hands.
The taste of her blood instantly made me feel a rush of power and possessiveness flooding through me.
She was mine!

Oliver's P. O. V.Julian's expression all through the ride to my home was sour, and I didn't try to hold any conversation with her.She was my mate…yes, but that's about it.I'm in love with another.Someone stronger, worthy and most importantly from the Royal bloodline.Hadn't it been for this exhausting ritual, I wouldn't have bothered myself looking for my mate. When we got to the pack, I went straight to my father's chamber with Julian. She still hadn't said a single word to me and neither had I.“Oliver, you're here,” My father said advancing towards me with a warm smile.“Did you find her?” He asked expectantly.I took some steps to the right to reveal Julian who was standing right behind me.She had an unreadable expression on her face, but observing her closer, you could almost see something like contempt in her eyes.My father stared at her indifferently.“The ritual is going to take place tomorrow by noon, have you already told her about it?” My father asked, with his gaze f
Julian's P. O. V.My mate was a member of the White crescent wolf pack! The same pack that killed my mother and tried to kill me as well! The same pack I've been planning to have my revenge on for years!I brought out an old but still very sharp dagger that was given to me by Mabel's dad a few years after I started living with them.Placing it in my bag, I strapped the bag around me and got out of the house in a manner of urgency. The address he gave to me wasn't too far from where I live.An abandoned hotel at the hilltop mountain.Nobody goes there because it was believed to be haunted.A fake story that I never believed anyway. The cab that I boarded could only take me as far as the end of the road. The rest of the journey had to be on foot.I got off, paid the cab man and hurried on.I sometimes broke into a run, but eventually reached the gate of the hotel.Banging on the gate with all my strength, I screamed Mabel's name. The gate slowly opened and I walked in. It was an automat
***Ten years later***"Did you see what just happened?" Mabel asked me, her heart thumping in her chest."A full grown human turned into an animal!" She exclaimed with the most shocked expression I've ever seen on her."Sshh," I uttered, covering her mouth with my right hand.I dragged her until we were both hiding behind a tree."Where are they?" I heard somebody ask in a rugged voice."We can't risk any human finding out about us. If they've seen us then they have to go."Mabel shrieked at that, but I stifled her mumbling with my hand still clasped over her mouth. Those were werewolves and for as long I remember, werewolves aren't seen in this part of the city.Slowly I removed my hand from Mabel's mouth, giving her the universal of 'keep quiet'.She nodded "We need to run," I whispered and the she nodded again with fright clearly written in her face.We ran for our lives.“We’re dead, Julian. Mrs. Karen is going to KILL us!” Mabel screamed, obviously lost in panic as we ran. “Is
Julian's P. O. V."You have to run! Run Julian and never look back," My mother said, while I held on tightly to her hands. She was badly wounded on the abdomen and blood dripped down freely."No mum, I can't leave you, we can still make it together," I said with teary eyes. She has been wounded so badly that she could no longer shape shift again. And it was practically useless because, we've been rounded up by so many wolf's.Another wolf howl from the distance made my body shriek."No Julian, please get out of here now!" My mother said pushing me off."I'll distract them and buy you time to run."I stared at my mother knowing that if I left I would never see her again."Mom..." I said still holding her hands and crying."Go please, go," She pushed me away. There was loud thumping and rustling of bushes.I ran off, without looking back. With my minimal werewolf ability, I could sense the arrival of some wolves. After reaching a distance and shielding myself by a tree, I saw a wolf bra
