I couldn't comprehend what Abby was accusing me of, but her anger was evident. She glared at me with eyes full of venom, and for a moment, I thought she might attack me right then and there.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I responded. I could feel the eyes on us, and I was trying to keep my emotions in check. I had no idea who Alex had been dating, only that he'd recently ended things with someone. And now, here was Abby, putting the blame on me for their breakup. It didn't make any sense. I wasn't even aware of their relationship until this very moment.

"Out of nowhere, Alex? Really?" Abby spat, her voice laced with bitterness. "You expect me to believe that you just suddenly decided to break up with me? It seems like you traded me in for her."
