Chapter Forty

Clara had no problem when she saw a young girl she hadn’t met before in their house, for one thing, she was so happy Elena was finally making friends and having sleepovers in the place.

“I’m Gaby,” the girl had greeted her so curtly, her cheeks filled with happiness.

“I’m going to leave you to catch up and talk to each other. I have something to do upstairs.” She smiled back at her, exchanging hugs with her daughter's friend and rushing to her room.

Elena was not in any way surprised by her mother's action. She knew she wouldn’t complain right from time, but she hadn’t expected her to be so shameless with it.

“Your mom is so nice. Didn’t you say she was going to complain about it,” Gaby said snuggly, returning to the chair and lying down.

“And she didn’t even bother to see me.” Silver added.
