Chapter 4: Princess

I stared into his deep blue eyes and was still stood with horror. He didn't know the extent of what he has done. Every newspaper and media article would have us plastered onto the front page. All the ideas of just being an ordinary girl just flew out of the window because of this one-time association with him. Yet who does he think he is to "claim" me!

When did I suddenly become a commodity that allowed notorious players like him to waltz into my life and suddenly think, they have the full potential to claim me?

The warm that was still upon my waist made me snap out of my trance and realised that he was still holding onto me. The realisation that every couple on the dance floor has stopped what they were doing, and all were watching with beady eyes waiting for our next movement made me sick to my stomach. I hated being the center of attention, especially when it is due to a male who probably though every female would fall for his charms.

I tried to free myself from his grip, but it just didn't budge.

"Let go of me! The dance has ended and whatever you wanted to accomplish is completed!" I tried to reason with him to allow me to get off this dance floor and in the safety of the crowd, but he didn't seem to budge once again.

"Sweetheart. You think I would allow you to leave my arms, after all, there are still individuals in the venue thinking that they can flirt with you and everything would be fine. Never forget you belong to somebody already!" Staring once again at this obnoxious males’ eyes, I found myself slowly feeling the anger and hate being shown through my face as he once again dared to believe I was a commodity and claim me.

I'm sorry sir but I think you've got it all wrong since there are so many issues with the speech you just made and maybe you thought I would be swoon with your ideas of flirtation but the possessive trait is not a good look on a notorious player like you.

However, there are many females in this venue that would love to have your attention, which for one I do not want. So, many thanks for causing me a huge issue and farewell." I stated whilst finally able to free myself from his grip through the shocked expression that was plastered on his face. However, this didn't last for long when the shock turned into a signature smirk every player would have plastered on their face.

Without a doubt in my mind, I did not want to associate myself anymore with this individual, so I turned to walk away. Despite this though I was stopped by my "oh so nice cousin" Naomi. Her face was seething with anger and if looks could kill I would possible be 60 feet under.

"Look what you've done!" she exclaimed whilst I stood there bored out of my mind knowing that the moment she opened her mouth, so would create a scene and there was nothing that could stop her.

"What the hell are you even on about Naomi? I do not have the will power to stand here and listen to you ramble on about whatever it is I've done wrong. Now if you would kindly step aside and allow me to get a very much needed beverage." She wasn't happy with the way I talked down at her, but it was much better than her making a fool out of herself and embarrassing our family name. She was about to open her mouth to speak but a deep voice cut her off.

"Darling. I didn't know you are this close to the McKinley's eldest son that he practically claimed you as his significant other on this dance floor. You should have told your Father about this as you should know how well it would be for a business alliance to be formed with the McKinley's."

My father spoke like it was a proud statement of possible wanting to use my connections with Alec McKinley for his business. His face showed a hint of pride as he believed I have the tie with the McKinley family to possible allow his business to grow even more.

"Father. With respect, I do not have any ties with the McKinley's eldest son." I stated with the hope that this conversation would be done for but one look at my father’s face he did not seem at all impressed with my statement and the small glimpse of pride was gone.

"Well. I was expecting too much of you then. I would need to allow the McKinley's eldest son to be introduced to Willow, seeing she is a better-fit child to get his attention." He stated like it was no big deal with what he was implying.

I know my father's personality. I also know that he has used my sister's beauty to score many business contracts. These contracts that he has scored never ended well for the other participants. It ended with them becoming bankrupt and my father would show his caring side to buy these companies to give them a sense of security and hope with their bankrupts.

These two years being in England didn't mean that I wasn't keeping up to date with my father's company, knowing one day I was going to fully take over the company, I had to be sure to know the very true pictures of what my father did to make this company so successful in the eyes of the public and media in such a short amount of time.

My sister was no better, being a model has made her corrupted. I remember the times in high school where she was intelligent yet sociable with everyone. I used to look up to her and tried to meet her standard no matter if it was personal life or her educational achievements.

However, the moment she became a model, her personality became the same as my father's. She became greedy for money and power. She started to help my father with allowing successful bachelors to believe my father's company was a great opportunity to invest in and manipulate them with the idea that she loved them but the moment they became bankrupt due to some issues with their investment, my sister would discard them like used paper and moved onto her next victim.

Yet my mother was nothing like them two. She sure did favors Willow, but she wasn't evil. Every single penny that she made was through her fashion lines and her hard work. Nonetheless, she was another victim.

My father and my sister have never told her how the company has gotten so successful in just a couple of years due to their dirty scheming. In her eyes, they are both innocent and victims of bad investment but end up pulling through at the end.

Whilst I. In her eyes I'm never going to be better than her first child. In her eyes, I will always be second and would never be able to take Willows position in her heart, and quite frankly I've come to the decision that I will possibly always be in Willows shadow in this family and there may never be a way out for me the moment I stated that I would take over Miller's Cooperation for them.

"Father, please restrain yourself with the way you are talking to me, especially in public and even though you have made it clear that Willow can complete your dirty work. Do not forget that you have announced to the business world that I am your sole heir to the CEO position, and I will be gaining that in the next couple of months.

So once again, restrain from making it these comments in public, as it could damage the perfect family image you and Willow have taken years to establish in the media after the last incident that got the world shocked." I replied to his face, of being the small, naïve teenager that I was 2 years ago believing that my father would be a changed man and was someone with honest intentions in the business world.

Walking away once again, I was finally able to get my hands on my well-deserved beverage and allowing myself to quench my thirst. I looked around to see where Tiffany had run off to, to see that she was dancing elegantly with a quite handsome male. I would have to ask her about who he is since her smile and the blush forming on her face suggests that he isn't just an ordinary male.

Walking around without any intentions left, I bumped into a young infant who had the most beautiful eyes I've ever laid eyes on. She had the condition of heterochromia, with one bright blue eye and the other with half bright blue and half chocolate brown.

"Hello, Princess, who are you running from?" I questioned as I bent down to her level. Some of her features were very familiar which made me question who her parents where.

"Hello, my name is Lilly," she stated with an adorable squeaky voice, clearly still out of breath from running. I picked her up and she started to talk about how her father is chasing her. I couldn't help smiling at her as she became very excited on the fact that her father hasn't found her yet and amused over the idea that she was having fun and being a carefree child at this boring party that was supposed to be my 20th birthday party. But in the end, it was just an excuse for my father meeting new investors.

"Lilly!"
