51 - Veronica's welcome gift to Monica
Sly and Monica arrived in the office by mid-morning. Sly had a solemn expression on his face when he escorted Monica to her office. He was possessed with the urge to kiss her and do many things with her but he resisted, recalling his principle. Instead, he whispered in her ear. "Don't wear yourself out. Reserve enough energy for tonight."
His deep voice made Monica blush as she felt her core tighten. "You are so shameless, get to work," she said jokingly, pushing Sly out of the door. Sly instinctively, circled his arm around her, burying his head in the corners of her neck. Monica stiffened. Since Sly returned from his trip, he never showed any form of intimacy in the office.
Therefore, Monica felt bizarre. Before she could ask the reason for his behavior, he had trod out of her office. Before Sly entered his office, he noticed James sitting with Barbara. He squinted suspiciously and asked, "Are you here to see me or Barbara?"

Having realized that the couple was asleep, Veronica finally got onto her feet. It was past midnight and the lights were off. She couldn't turn on the light to cause either of the couple to wake up and decided on going through the dark. She gently opened the washroom door sauntering slowly, but unfortunately, her leg hit the couch. She gasped in pain, the bedside lamp intermittently lit up, with Sly sitting on the bed, staring daggers at her. The room wasn't brightly lit by the bedside lamp but Sly could see Veronica's form.
