"Hello, sir, I have found her," the informant's voice sounded through the phone.

"You are a minute late," Edward said to him while ignoring what he had. just said.

"Sir, I'm so sorry. I tried my best to get back to you before the end of the thirty minutes, but there was much information. Not only did I find out where she is right now, but I also found out the reason why she came back from where she has been staying all this while," the informant said to Edward with a trembling tone.

"And why did she come back?" Edward asked the informant with an interested tone that made the informant to heave a sigh of relief.

"Well, according to what I found out, there's a modelling competition that will be taking place very soon, and she is among the participants, so that's likely the reason why she came back, and for the apartment that I sent you the address of earlier, I think that's where she will be staying till the end of the competition," the informant said to Edward.

"So you mean she will be going back after the competition?" Edward asked the informant.

"Yes, I think so. The modelling agency she works for isn't here. If she came back, it's just because the competition was hosted here in New York City, so once it's over, I think she will be going back," the informant said to Edward.

"Well, not while I'm still alive," Edward said to the informant, forgetting that Adrian was still sitting right in front of him.

"Tell me, which agency has she been working for?" Edward asked the informant.

"Sincerely speaking, sir, I don't know; all her information for the past five years has been hidden. It's difficultly that I was able to get this information that I sent you," the informant said to Edward through the phone.

"Well, I wasn't expecting you to get it easily, after all, since all this while, I haven't been able to trace her down or to even get any single information about her," Edward said to the informant.

"So should I send you the address of where she is right now?" The informant asked Edward.

"No, there's no need for that. Since I already know where she lives, I would rather go and meet her at home. What I want you to do is to dig more and see if you can gather more information about her," Edward said to the informant.

"Okay, sir, I will get on that immediately, and thank you for sparing my life," the informant said to him.

"Whatever," Edward said to him with a scoff before hanging up the call.

"Who was that?" Adrian asked Edward after he hung up the call.

"None of your business," Edward said to him, his tone laced with disinterest.

"Let me guess, you are still searching for her," Adrian said to Edward, who didn't give him any reply.

"There's something I want you to do for me," Edward said to Adrian after some minutes of silence.

"Is it work-related or..." Adrian tried asking Edward but was immediately interrupted by his cold voice.

"Yes, it's work-related," Edward said to Adrian in reply.

"Okay, what is it you want me to do for you?" Adrian asked Edward as he sat up on the chair.

"There was a modelling company that asked for our company to sponsor an upcoming modelling competition earlier this month, right?" Edward asked Adrian.

"Yes, and you rejected the request just like that of every other company that had made a similar request," Adrian said to Edward.

"Well, I want you to contact the company and tell them that we have accepted the request, that we will be sponsoring the event," Edward said to Adrian.

"What?" Adrian asked Edward with a furrowed brow, earning himself an angry glare from him.

"Adrian, you of all people know how much I hate repeating myself, so just go and do what I asked you to do instead of waiting for me to repeat what I have just said," Edward said to Adrian with a straight face.

"Can I at least know why you changed your mind? Because the Edward that I know never goes back on his word; when he says no, it's no, so what suddenly prompted you to change your mind?" Adrian asked Edward, who was now glaring daggers at him.

"Let me guess, a lady that you like is among the models, and you want to use this opportunity to approach her, or am I mistaken?" Adrian asked Edward.

"Adrian, can you for once in your life do what I ask you to do without asking questions? You know, there are many people out there who are dying to become my personal assistant, so if you go on questioning every one of my decisions, I will soon replace you with someone who follows all my instructions, and maybe later on, if I need someone who will always be questioning my decisions, I will hire you. What do you think?" Edward asked Adrian with a fake smile.

"I don't think anything. I'm going to do what you asked me to do, but don't forget that even if you don't tell me the reason why you changed your mind, I will still figure it out on my own; after all, this won't be the first time I'm doing that," Adrian said to Edward, who has returned his gaze towards his computer.

"Well, I know, and that's the reason why I won't tell you, so try and figure it out yourself, Mr. Detective, but before you begin your investigations, make sure to do what I asked you to do," Edward said to Adrian without sparing him a glance, and with that, Adrian scoffed at him before standing up.

"Always cold like ice; sometimes I even wonder why you always switch on the AC. Normally, with your cold attitude, you aren't even supposed to be using an air conditioner because your cold attitude alone is enough to make everywhere cold," Adrian said to Edward, who slowly raised his head only to see that Adrian had already rushed to the exit and closed the door, and with that, Edward shook his head in disbelief before returning his gaze towards his computer.

"It was a twenty-minute ride from the new apartment Amelia had rented back to Sarah's house.Once she got down from the taxi and looked towards the entrance of Sarah's apartment, the first thought that came to her mind was what happened five years ago, precisely on the day she got married to Edward. Up till today, she still can't believe that she made the bold decision to escape from New York City on the very same day she got married, and whenever she remembers this, she can't help but shake her head in disbelief. 'Well, it wasn't a bad decision, though. If I hadn't made that bold decision five years ago, who knows what I would have become today, especially with that cold-hearted Edward?' Amelia thought inwardly as she recalled what she had gone through with Edward before escaping from New York City. She didn't even spend up to forty-eight hours with him, but she can confidently say that she went through hell with him. 'He was really the devil, just as everyone rumoured. I don't eve

Bringing out his phone from his pocket, Edward quickly placed a call to his informant, who had told him about Amelia's return."Hello, sir," the informant's voice sounded through the phone after the call was picked up."Where is she?" Edward asked him immediately."Who, please, is it your wife?" the informant asked Edward, who scoffed in disbelief."And who the hell will I be asking about? Where the fuck is she, goddamnit?" Edward asked the informant with an angry tone."I'm sorry, sir, but I don't know where she is," the informant said to Edward with a low tone."And what exactly do you mean by you don't know where she is?" Edward asked him with a cold and menacing tone."Well, after I sent you her location, something came up, so I had to leave to attend to it. That's why I wasn't able to keep an eye on her until you met up with her. I thought she would be where she was until you arrived," the informant said to Edward, who sighed heavily in order to calm himself."Find her; you have

It was a fifteen-minute ride from the airport to the address sent to Amelia by the real estate agent, who was supposed to show her around the new apartment she had rented before returning to New York City. Getting down from the car, Amelia paid the driver before heading to the entrance of the apartment, and with that, she placed a soft knock on the door and waited for the door to be opened. "A minute, please." A voice sounded from inside, and after a while the door burst open, revealing a man who was probably in his late forties. "Good afternoon, Mr. James," Amelia greeted the real estate agent as he opened the door. "Yes, good afternoon, it's Mrs. Jones, right?" The real estate agent asked Amelia, who nodded in reply, and with that he shot her a strange look as if he had just remembered something about her. "Is everything okay?" Amelia, who didn't fail to realise the change on the man's face, asked him. "Yes, everything is okay. Tell me, have we met before?" The real estat

    It was a sunny day at LaGuardia Airport, one of the biggest airports in New York City. People could be seen walking in and out of the airport with their luggage. Meanwhile, Amelia could also be seen walking out of the airport premises while dragging her luggage, and right beside her was Dave, who was holding her second free hand. "Mummy, is Dad coming to pick us up?" Dave asked Amelia as they were walking out of the airport, but as Amelia was about to reply, she spotted Sarah, who was walking towards her while grinning ear to ear. "And who do we have here?" Sarah asked Amelia as she got closer to her, and with that, she hugged her tightly. "You don't know how much I have missed you," Sarah said to Amelia while hugging her. "You don't know how much I have missed you too, bestie," Amelia said to her while hugging her back. Disengaging from the hug, Sarah's gaze traveled to little Dave, who was standing beside Amelia. Seeing him, the first person that came to her mind was Edward;
