"It was a twenty-minute ride from the new apartment Amelia had rented back to Sarah's house.

Once she got down from the taxi and looked towards the entrance of Sarah's apartment, the first thought that came to her mind was what happened five years ago, precisely on the day she got married to Edward. Up till today, she still can't believe that she made the bold decision to escape from New York City on the very same day she got married, and whenever she remembers this, she can't help but shake her head in disbelief.

'Well, it wasn't a bad decision, though. If I hadn't made that bold decision five years ago, who knows what I would have become today, especially with that cold-hearted Edward?' Amelia thought inwardly as she recalled what she had gone through with Edward before escaping from New York City. She didn't even spend up to forty-eight hours with him, but she can confidently say that she went through hell with him.

'He was really the devil, just as everyone rumoured. I don't even know if it's a good idea to show Dave to him; he might end up influencing him to become a devil like himself,' Amelia thought inwardly as she walked towards the door of Sarah's apartment and placed a knock.

"I'm coming," Sarah's voice sounded from inside before she came and opened the door for Amelia.

"Mummy, welcome back," said Dave, who was sitting on the sofa while manipulating his little computer, ran towards Amelia and hugged her.

"Thank you so much, my dear," Amelia said to him before hugging him back, and when they disengaged from the hug, Dave went back and continued with what he was doing with his computer while Amelia went and sat down beside Sarah, who was watching the TV.

"Dave, we just got back, and you are already on your computer. Please don't start hacking into people's systems just like in Canada. I don't want anyone suing me here because of you," Amelia said to Dave as she sat down beside Sarah.

"No problem, Mum, I'm just playing a game, not hacking into people's systems," Dave said to Amelia before returning her gaze towards his computer.

"Wow, seems like my friend gave birth to a genius hacker," Sarah said to Amelia, who sighed heavily.

"Well, you are right, a genius hacker that got me into trouble countless times. Only if you knew how many times I was sued because people thought I was the one asking him to hack into their systems," Amelia said to Sarah, who couldn't hold back her laughter.

"Well, you can laugh all you want; after all, he's your favourite, but believe me, if he gets into trouble here, I will tell the authorities that you are his mom." Amelia said to Sarah,

"Well, fortunately, his dad has one of the biggest hacking firms in New York City. What a coincidence? So I don't think I have anything to worry about," Sarah said to Amelia, who rolled her eyes at her, signalling jer to keep her voice low so that Dave won't hear what she's saying.

"By the way, how was the new apartment?" Sarah asked Amelia after laughing to her satisfaction.

"Well, it's good; it's big enough to accommodate us till the end of the competition. We will be moving in tomorrow or before the end of the week," Amelia said to Sarah, who nodded in reply before looking at Dave, who was still manipulating his computer while putting on his headphones.

"So when are you finally going to take him to his dad?" Sarah asked Amelia, who sighed heavily.

"I don't know yet, and to be sincere, I'm even having second thoughts about taking Dave to him," Amelia said to Sarah, who furrowed his brows at him.

"Why so?" Sarah asked Amelia with furrowed brows.

"Well, you know how cold-hearted he is. I don't want my son to end up like him, so I will first meet up with him, and if I discover that he's still as cold-hearted as before, then I might not show Dave to him nor show him my face again until I return back to Canada," Amelia said to Sarah.

"Well, that's also not a bad idea; you are his mom, so you know what's better for him," Sarah said to Amelia before giving her a tap on the shoulder, and at the same time Amelia's phone started ringing.

Taking her handbag, she checked the caller ID, which was Mrs. Cassandra.

"Excuse me, I have to take this," Amelia said to Sarah, who nodded in reply, and with that, Amelia took the phone and went outside before picking it up.

"Hello, Mrs. Cassandra," Amelia said through the phone after picking up the call.

"Hi Amelia, How are you doing, and how was your trip to New York City?" Mrs. Cassandra asked Amelia through the phone.

"It was good; we just got here, let's say an hour ago," Amelia said to her.

"Ooh, I'm so happy to hear that; I will also be coming to New York City very soon," Mrs. Cassandra said to Amelia through the phone.

"Ooh, that's good; I will be expecting you then," Amelia said to her.

"Yeah, actually the main reason why I called you is to inform you that tomorrow there will be a party in which the participants of the competition will get the chance to meet the judges and also some of the sponsors of the competition. Since you haven't yet met with your agent, that's why I'm calling to tell you, but you don't have to worry; your agent will surely reach out to you before tomorrow in order to communicate the address of where the party will be taking place. She will also tell you every other thing you need to know about the competition," Mrs. Cassandra said to Amelia.

"Okay, thank you for the information; I will be expecting her call then," Amelia said to her.

"Okay, I will leave you to get some rest. Good luck, by the way. I know you will surely make our company proud as usual," Mrs. Cassandra said to Amelia.

"I will try my best as usual," Amelia said to her.

"I know, my dear, goodbye," Mrs. Cassandra said to Amelia before hanging up, and with that, Amelia sighed as she felt as if the load of the whole world was lying on her shoulders.

Edward asked the informant with an interested tone that made the informant to heave a sigh of relief."Well, according to what I found out, there's a modelling competition that will be taking place very soon, and she is among the participants, so that's likely the reason why she came back, and for the apartment that I sent you the address of earlier, I think that's where she will be staying till the end of the competition," the informant said to Edward

Edward asked him with a cold and menacing tone."Well, after I sent you her location, something came up, so I had to leave to attend to it. That's why I wasn't able to keep an eye on her until you met up with her. I thought she would be where she was until you arrived," the informant said to Edward, who sighed heavily in order to calm himself."Find her; you have

It was a fifteen-minute ride from the airport to the address sent to Amelia by the real estate agent, who was supposed to show her around the new apartment she had rented before returning to New York City. Getting down from the car, Amelia paid the driver before heading to the entrance of the apartment, and with that, she placed a soft knock on the door and waited for the door to be opened. "A minute, please." A voice sounded from inside, and after a while the door burst open, revealing a man who was probably in his late forties. "Good afternoon, Mr. James," Amelia greeted the real estate agent as he opened the door. "Yes, good afternoon, it's Mrs. Jones, right?" The real estate agent asked Amelia, who nodded in reply, and with that he shot her a strange look as if he had just remembered something about her. "Is everything okay?" Amelia, who didn't fail to realise the change on the man's face, asked him. "Yes, everything is okay. Tell me, have we met before?" The real estat

    It was a sunny day at LaGuardia Airport, one of the biggest airports in New York City. People could be seen walking in and out of the airport with their luggage. Meanwhile, Amelia could also be seen walking out of the airport premises while dragging her luggage, and right beside her was Dave, who was holding her second free hand. "Mummy, is Dad coming to pick us up?" Dave asked Amelia as they were walking out of the airport, but as Amelia was about to reply, she spotted Sarah, who was walking towards her while grinning ear to ear. "And who do we have here?" Sarah asked Amelia as she got closer to her, and with that, she hugged her tightly. "You don't know how much I have missed you," Sarah said to Amelia while hugging her. "You don't know how much I have missed you too, bestie," Amelia said to her while hugging her back. Disengaging from the hug, Sarah's gaze traveled to little Dave, who was standing beside Amelia. Seeing him, the first person that came to her mind was Edward;
