Chapter 21 - Loveless Marriage

Monalisa, his ex - fiancee hadn’t had this privilege, only Vanessa did. So for him to allow Kirsten to lay her head on his lap meant one thing. Did this woman silently conquer him?

Kirsten felt him stiffened as her head laid on his lap. When she looked up to see if the man was protesting that she laid her head on his lap, her heart sank as she found him unwilling and confused at the same time.

“I’m sorry, my emotions were all over the place and I didn’t mean it,” Kirsten whispered and lifted her head.

Discovering that he couldn’t disappoint her and it pained him to see her in pain, Matthew gulped, his Adam's apple rolled up and down his throat.

“No, it’s okay,” Matthew held her shoulders and pushed her gently back on his lap.

Matthew tenderly and affectionately ran his finger though her silky auburn hair. His eyes roamed her beautiful face as she stared into his hazel eyes mirroring her image.
