KATE

I found Lisa on the couch, dressed to go out, and she gave me an investigative look. I tried to pretend that I hadn't just run out after my first day of work.

"Hi!"

I took big steps toward the kitchen.

"Hi! Is something wrong?"

"No. Why?"

"Because it looks like something happened."

"I'm just tired... that's all."

I sat at the table to make a sandwich after grabbing some stuff from the fridge.

"How was your first day?"

"Normal."

Normal was the one thing it hadn't been.

"And your boss? What's he like? Besides being incredibly sexy and hot, is he... nice?"

"He... He's... He's professional!"

"Professional?" She laughed. "Seriously, Kate? Professional? A guy like him—professional isn't the right word to describe him. He looked incredibly sexy in the photos."

At least someone was smarter than me and researched Ryan's face.

"He's my boss, Lisa." I rolled my eyes at her. You didn't consider that when you let him make you come, a few minutes ago. Damn.

"I'd love to have a boss like him,"
