38- The Ring

I walk out of the restroom after washing my hands and drying it. I make sure my face doesn't have evidence of my earlier breakdown.

I seem to have been doing that a lot lately since Nicholas noticed me more.

As I make my way back to my office, I remember the way Natalia's eyes flashed as she turned around and walked into his office, her gaze focused on me for a moment before she slammed the door closed behind her.

There’s no way he can call the marriage off without informing her father first, but I wish he could. I wish he had just told her that they were through.

As I walk into my office Nicholas calls for me before I can take a seat. I walk into his office, watch Nicholas, and clench my jaw. “Would you like me to make a dinner reservation for you two, darling? Or shall I send her another hundred roses?”

Nicholas bites back a smile, his gaze suddenly far warmer than it was before. “Come here, Rosalie.”
