Amanda slid down the wall with her head cradled to her hand until she felt the coldness of the floor against her butt. She stayed like that for a while before she started chuckling, everyone in the hospital room turned to her in surprise.
Another chuckle escaped her lips then another before it slowly turned into a sob. Malia immediately rushed to her and hugged her, but that did nothing to comfort her. She felt her world crashing down before her as cried on Malia's shoulders "why? Why?! Just why!?" She yelled amidst her sobs, and Malia just tightened her grip on her.
Alan stared at her with pity in his eyes, he just couldn't seem to recall anything about her. His mind felt oddly blank when it comes to her, the nurse looked at the scenario and mouthed "I'll go get the doctor" to Alan before she quietly excused herself from the room.
Malia and Amanda still sat on the floor in each other's arms when Amanda suddenly broke out of Malia's arms and rushed to Alan's bed
Andrew stood beside Amanda, and they both stared wordlessly at the park that was filled with mostly children and their parents. They both have been standing there for over 5 minutes now, and Andrew's patience was growing thin "I do not have the time, nor patience to just stand here with you and look at annoying children all day. So tell me why you called me here or I'll be on my way" Andrew said, turning his gaze to Amanda."Do you remember the one time we went to an amusement park, back home in Nigeria?" She asked after a brief moment of silence passed, without removing her gaze from the children, and Andrew just raised an eyebrow in surprise at her question. He was expecting anything but that kind of question "I didn't know you brought me here to reminisce on our childhood" he said in a bored tone, his gaze fixed on her"Do you or do you not remember?" Amanda asked sharply, turning to him for a brief second with a brazen look in her eyes before turning away.
Amanda pushed her door open and exhaled loudly at the bone-chilling silence, she looked around the room with sadness as she remembered what it felt like to have Jonathan around. He would probably be playing games now or watching his favorite anime till she drags him up to bed. A little laugh escaped her lips when she remembered the one time she dragged him up to the bed, only to find him downstairs a few minutes later; watching SpongeBob. A loud sigh left her lips at the memories and she shook her head sadly and walked upstairs. She planned on heading straight to her room and packing all that she needs but instead, she found herself in Jonathan's room. "Why are you acting like he is dead? He is alive and he will soon come home, snap out of it!" She scolded herself and immediately dashed out of his room, and walked over to her's. Without wasting much time, she packed up a few clothes and her laptop for work, before she quietly left her room. She looked at the house on
Alan was chatting and laughing happily with the squad; Adilah, Malia, and Mark, when the door crept open to reveal Amanda, who suddenly felt awkward when all eyes turned to her. She smiled awkwardly at them before moving further into the room, "Hi guys, just got off work and decided to come visit him" she explained in a calm voice and everyone including Alan, smiled at her. "You know you don't have to explain yourself, right? You can come visit him anytime you want" Adilah said as she stood up from the chair. "Hi" Alan greeted her in a calm voice and she turned to him in surprise. He laid in the bed with a warm smile on his face as he looked at her. She returned the smile and mouthed "Hi" back to him before she walked over to him and sat down on the chair Adilah stood up from "How are you doing?" "I feel better, thank you" Alan replied and started staring at her intensely, his brow furrowed and his face scrunched up as he stared at her. Amanda
"Do you remember how the accident happened?" Amanda asked and Alan's eyes widened. He immediately let go of her hand in his and stared blankly at her, but Amanda could see the wheels turning in his head, "I.. I.. "he stuttered out before he swallowed nervously "it hurts" he suddenly blurted out after a few moments of silence passed, making Amanda sit up in worry. "What's wrong?" She clasped her hands in his as she asked worriedly. "My head, it hurts" he repeated and she could see the tears welling up in his eyes "I.." he started but she immediately shushed him "Shh... it's okay" she said and pulled him into her arms "I'm sorry for asking that. It's okay, you don't have to force yourself to Remember it" she mumbled into his ears, softly patting his back. His body began to relax in her hold and she could feel him taking deep breaths to relax, she kept patting his back till he fully relaxed, "I'm so sorry for asking you that" she mumbled her apol
"I think you should wake up now" a deep and husky voice muttered in Amanda's ear, but she just made a noise of disapproval and snuggled closer to him, she ran her hands over his body, hoping to feel the smooth and silky texture of her pillow, but instead all she could feel was hardness and warmness underneath her finger. She ran her hands over his body again, to be sure she was feeling the right thing and when she felt the same hardness and warmness, she snapped her eye open in surprise, only to meet Alan's face staring down amusedly at her "that was cute" Amanda's face heated up in embarrassment and she muttered a weak "shut up" in retaliation. "I could watch them all day you know?" Someone whispered behind them, and Amanda whipped her head back in shock at the unexpected intrusion, only to meet the squad staring at them with smiles tugging on their lips. She immediately felt like the ground should open and swallow her whole. She swallowed down her e
Sadness and a gut-wrenching silence loomed over the hospital room where Jonathan's dead body laid, over 3 pairs of pain-filled eyes watched the nurses intensely as they removed all the tubes attached to his body and covered him up with the piece of white cloth that Amanda threw off him a while ago. Adilah and Malia held Amanda as the nurses wheeled Jonathan's body away, their eyes were filled with tears as they watched the body that is now covered with a piece of white cloth, but Amanda couldn't cry anymore even she wanted to. She couldn't grasp what was happening anymore, her eyes were blank and devoid of any emotion as she stared at her dead brother, her mind was blank and filled with nothing but darkness, she felt no pain, just a thick and enveloping emptiness that was drawing her in bit by bit. The nurses stopped when they got to Alan; who was seated in a wheelchair with Mark behind him. His body wouldn't stop shaking as he stared at the body, he felt a p
"He's getting discharged today. Congratulations on recovering fully, Mr. Weasley" the doctor said with a smile on his face, but Alan just stared blankly at him. The smile on the doctor's face just doesn't make any sense to him, why is he so happy? Why is he being congratulated? Should he be happy that his body is whole but his memories aren't? Is he even allowed to be happy when the boy he came in here with, is dead?. He let out a breath and clutched his chest in pain as he remembered the broken look on Amanda's face as she watched her brother's corpse get wheeled away. Tears threatened to fall from his eyes, and he immediately squeezed them shut. "Alan..." Adilah called out shakily as she took slow steps towards him, "it isn't your fault, I swear" she repeated the words she has been saying for over a week now. Her eyes glazed over him, filled with pity and sadness, she couldn't bear to see her brother beating himself up for something he didn't do. Si
Amanda laid on the bed, surrounded by darkness courtesy of the curtains that haven't been opened in a week, she was trying to force herself back to sleep like she has been doing the past week when a loud knock came on the door. She groaned and covered herself with the duvet to block the noise out till it stops, it always does, in 5 to 10 minutes it will eventually stop and she will be left alone again. She laid in that position unmoving waiting for the sounds of loud knocking to be drowned out by the silence she has grown comfortable with, but the time went from 5 minutes to 10 to 20, yet the knocks didn't stop coming. This made her slowly sit up in the bed, "please leave me alone" she muttered weekly, praying the knocks will stop coming and the memories pushing at the gates of her mind will disappear, but none happened.Sighing, she laid her head against the headboard and pushed Jonathan's plushie closer to her chest, and squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to dro
