Still patting my hair dry, I stepped out of the bathroom, finding Klaus with his laptop above his lap. Eyebrows creased in a frown, his fingers beating the keyboard with finesse.

I rounded the bed, eyes trained on him, but he was so engrossed in whatever he was writing that he didn’t even acknowledge my presence.

It has been three days since Ghost and Rain visited us. Klaus was so busy that he sometimes skipped meals. He worries about Berenice. The entire family remained at risk, from inside and outside threats. And with Dominguez roaming freely, his little sister remained an easy target for Martinelli’s number one enemy right now.

Berenice blatantly declared her displeasure for being a Martinelli. It’s a rather challenging task to protect her when she doesn’t want to accept the security given to her. I heard she tried to escape Kai twice, getting creative with her every attempt.
