Caroline’s POV
How did that happen? I haven’t talked about my parents in so many years to anyone. As soon as I utter about them, all the memories came back, and I went to the washroom to calm myself down.
After dinner, we went to our hotel and bid our goodnights. Ella hugged me before she walked into her room with Samael, and Peter came and hugged me.
“It’s okay,” he said and patted my back with a smile, and I know what he was talking about. I gave him a tight looped smile with a nod and went into my room as he went in his.
I took a long bath to clear my head and compose myself. I wore my nightdress and walked into my room. I switched off the lights and sat on the sofa that’s on the balcony. I felt calm and relaxed as I gazed outside. I had a beautiful city view from the balcony and the silence which is like music to my ears. Suddenly I heard a knock on my door and I frown. Who would be, this late? gett
I don’t know what came over me when I say she looked beautiful. Tough, I was honest, the way her smile spilled from her face made me think I said something wrong. I dint meant to say it out loud, I thought I said it in my head.“Why are you nervous, Sama?” Ella asked me as we both sat in front of each other, having our breakfast. I was ready for the meeting already, wearing black trousers, a light blue shirt, and black formal shoes.“I am not nervous, Ella,” I tell her and continued to have my breakfast, while she eyed me and tried to find the answer to her question.“Yes, you are. It is because of the presentation that you are supposed to present?” She asked and I sighed as I finished my breakfast.“Yeah, something like that,” I muttered and saw her giving me a nod.“Well, don’t worry. I know my brother is going to do amazing!” she said with a grin on her face which made me sm
I watched as Samael gave the presentation and for some reason, I was not able to look away from him. The way he panicked when I almost broke my ankle made me smile and felt wired yet good that he was worried about me. He stole a few glances at me here, before he fully turned to me when he finished the presentation.“So, do you think about it?” I turned my gaze from Samael to the men and women sitting around the table, who smiled at me before nodding.“You have the deal, Ms. Martinez.”After discussing for a few more minutes, we sealed the deal. Everyone left soon after leaving me and Samael in the conference room. I turned around to see him already looking at me with a smile on his face.“Congratulations, boss!” Samael said and I rolled my eyes at him for calling me boss, tough a smile stretched on my lips.“Thank you, congratulations to you too and the presentation was amazing Samael.” I complimented
Samael’s POVI took a long breath as soon as I entered the balcony. The fresh early morning breeze made me feel content and the beautiful sky made a smile form on my face. leaning on the railing I thought about my life. It’s been so long since I have felt content or at peace. Coming here to London, felt like a break even though I did work on the presentations and all. I loved it here, and it was our last day. In the evening we will be back to our life and I will be again busy with everything.I don’t know how I feel about the fact that I don’t have any place which I can call my home. My childhood was horrible and the place where I was living was not less than hell. Also, the fact that the man I lived with was not less than devil either. And now, I have escaped that place and that people with my little sister, yet I don’t feel content. I still fear that they will come after us and try to take her from me. she
Caroline’s POV “Thank you,” I said to the taxi driver after paying and got out of the car.I took a deep breath when I saw the beautiful garden in front of me. the trees, flowers, and the stone path were bringing back the beautiful memories from my childhood. The sky was clear and the birds chirping could be here in the silent surrounding. People were walking and sitting around but the environment was peaceful, making a smile stretch on my lips.“I see you love this place.” I heard Samael’s voice and nodded at him without looking at him.“I do, it’s the garden I use to visit with my parents whenever we came here. It has a lot of memories, good memories.” I don’t know why I told him that, but I just felt like sharing. When I looked at him, he just smiled at me softly with a knowing look.“Wow, it’s pretty here!” Ella walked towards us.“I hop
Samael’s POV“London’s eye! Oh my god, it’s so huge!” Ella jumped up and down with excitement which made Caroline and me chuckle.“Come on, let’s go,” Caroline said and I nodded at her in agreement as we walked towards it and Ella followed us while taking pictures.“Caroline!” Ella said making us stop.“Yes, Ella?” Caroline asked turning around to look at her as she waited for Ella to walk towards her.“Thank you for taking us wherever you took us in there a few days. I really enjoyed it, thank you so much!” Ella said as she held onto Caroline’s hand.“You are welcome, Ella,” Caroline replied with a smile on her face.We walked towards London’s eye and when we were up in the sky, I felt like it was the most beautiful view I have ever seen. The sky was getting darker and the city lights looked beautiful. The mome
Caroline’s POVI gulped the glass of water and sighed while sitting on a chair. It was almost noon and I had planned to meet James after a few hours to discuss some important thing. When I heard the doorbell ring, I stood up keeping the now empty glass of water on the table, and went to open the door.“Hey, sis!” my nineteen-year-old cousin stood in front of me with a huge grin on his face as he looked at me with his hazel eyes and his brown hair looked like they had grown a little long.“Mason! How are you?” I asked as a smile appeared on my face.“I am good except for the fact that my cousin forgot about me.” He said with a sad pout.“Come inside.” I chuckled and walked inside with him following me after closing the door behind him.“Would you like something to drink?” I asked him as we both sat on the sofa.“No, I just wanted to meet you
Caroline’s POV“I think we should sit down first.” Uncle Victor suggested and sat with a shrug waiting for them to sit down. Uncle and aunt sat in front of me with a confused look on their faces while aunt Marie had nervous look.“Do you want something to drink or eat?” aunt Marie asked me and I just raised my eyebrows at her and shook my head.“No, I am fine. Thank you. Tough I would appreciate honesty while we have the conversation aunt Marie.” I said sassily which caught her off guard and a look of surprise appeared on her face.“What do you want to talk about Caroline? It seems something important, what is it?” uncle Victor asked me and I could tell he was getting impatient and truth to be told, I was getting impatient too. I wanted answers, the truth behind aunt Marie’s doings.“Someone is stealing a certain amount of money every month from the company’s a
Samael’s POVI parked the car outside Ella’s school and turned to look at her. She was looking at me with a bored expression. I smiled at her knowingly she was not in the mood to go to school today, and I was not allowing her to take a holiday.“Have a good day, Ella,” I said sweetly while she glared at me.“Hm, you too brother.” She said sarcastically with a fake smile which made me chuckle. She rolled her eyes at me before leaving the car and walking inside the building. I left as soon as she was out of my site and started driving toward the office.I was feeling a little wired because of yesterday’s incident. After talking with Justin, I concluded that I should not push Ella away just because I think it’s not safe. Shane cannot do anything to hurt Ella until I am by her side, I won’t let him.I parked the car when I reached the Martinez and took the elevator to Caroline’s office. I hope she had a look at the email I sent her yesterday as there were major changes in the schedule. Wh
