Trista’s POV

He drove along the coast line, the salty scent of the sea thick in the air. I was a worried wreck, though. I tried several times to get in contact with both Liam and Johnson, but I wasn’t having any luck. Serena tried too, but she wasn’t able to connect with them.

I was worried about Johnson. Was he okay? Where was he now? Was he in immediate danger? Were we? What if they’d followed him and found us?

At one point, I thought a car was following us. It was a red car and it was behind us for quite a while. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want Jules to worry. I glanced back at the car through the rearview mirror, momentarily convinced that it was one of Jake’s people and that they’d tracked us down.

But the car eventually turned off the highway.

‘You’re just being paranoid,’ I told myself. ‘No one’s following you.’

I was impressed to see that Jules was a good driver. He didn’t speed and he kept his eyes locked on the road. He was calm and collected, and that helped

Trista’s POV “Even if you do manage to get Belle safely to a human hospital, Belle is a werewolf, Trista. She’ll need a blood transfusion. They won’t be able to find a blood match for her. She had wolf blood running through her veins.” I hadn’t thought of that. Belle had lost so much blood. Liam was right. The human hospitals didn’t exactly store werewolf blood in their blood banks. They might be confused by her injuries. They’d ask questions. I could tell them she was attacked by a wild animal in the forest, but they’d ask what Belle’s blood type was. How would I answer that? What if they became suspicious? And there was the high probability they wouldn’t be able to help her anyway.“Please, Trista. I think this is the best thing. We have to try it,” Liam said, pleading with his eyes. “I know you’re scared. I’m scared too. But I really believe that trying to restore our matebond is our best option for saving Belle.” Liam’s words fell heavil

Trista’s POV I felt very distressed. I didn’t know what the right answer was.I could see that Liam wanted us to try but…. In the eyes of most werewolves, the relationship between mates was sacred. It was a gift bestowed by the Moon Goddess herself. A cherished, honored gift. A mate was not a relationship to be exploited. It wasn’t some sort of tool to use or wield on a whim. Was that what we were doing? I was torn. On the one hand, it didn’t feel right to try to restore our matebond without sincere feelings. It felt like we were using something sacred for our own benefit. Like we were abusing a gift. But on the other hand, Belle’s life was possibly on the line. So it wasn’t like we were doing this for no reason. If we decided to go forward with it and try to restore our bond, we had good reason to do so. I mean, what better reason was there than to save the life of our daughter. There was a third aspect of a

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 246: Consider It

Trista’s POV “Consider it?” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.I hadn’t expected him to say that. Instead, I thought he was asking his parents to leave so we could be alone with Belle. Apparently, though, he actually wanted to talk about this.Instantly, my thoughts spun. I was so confused. Liam and I had broken our bond five years ago. There was nothing left. Was there?I touched my wrist and ran my fingers over the faint scar. The scar was from our wedding, where I’d been cut during the blood ritual. Liam had the same one. Unlike most scars, which could be healed by our wolves, a blood ritual scar couldn’t be healed. Our two scars would always be there. They were even more permanent than a tattoo. My mind flashed back to my wedding. I’d been so full of hope, so excited to become Liam’s Luna. The future had seemed so bright, so full of joy and promise. And my wedding day had been perfect, full of love and optimism, the way every wedding should be.

Trista’s POV “His parents?” I repeated.I didn’t understand. How had his parents saved him? If the doctor couldn’t save him, then what had his parents done to pull Parker out of a coma? Just then, Liam burst into the room. All eyes turned to him. One look at him and I completely forgot Felicity’s conversation. He looked panicked. “Oh my God,” he said, his eyes glancing around the room and landing on Belle. Pele had already told Liam a through mindlink what had happened. He ran to the bed and knelt down beside me on the chair. He reached out and grabbed her hand. Belle’s hand looked so small in Liam’s large, strong hand. “Trista,” he said, looking at me.There was so much intensity in his eyes. He was frantic with concern for his daughter. Having Liam there brought up a new surge of emotions in me. My numbness shifted and I felt my heart ached. Tears swelled in my eyes. Without another word, Liam wrapped me into his ar

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 244: She Might Not Wake Up

Trista’s POV My heart clutched. “A coma?” I whispered out loud. That was bad, like REALLY bad. Why did I let them go out into the forest? This was all my fault. I’d been careless. I never should have let them go alone. If I had just said no, and kept them home, then none of this would have happened. My little girl was in a coma. The gash in her stomach was so deep. It had all happened so fast. One moment, I was making their beds and the next? “Where’s Liam?” I asked. I needed to see him. He was always so calm. So steady. I needed his strength. Belle was his daughter. He should be here. “I mindlinked Liam,” Pele said beside me. “He’s on his way.” I swallowed and then went to Belle’s bedside. She looked so small and frail laying there, her eyes closed, her hands folded over the blanket on her stomach. Her hair was splayed all over the pillow. She looked like an angel. “When will she wake

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 243: Belle’s Injury

Trista’s POV The world fell out from under me. I knew right away that something was VERY wrong. Parker was running, as best he could, with Belle in his arms. Her arms and legs dangled lifelessly. Billy was ahead of them, crying for someone to help. I tore through the grass towards them, followed by several other pack members. “I’m so sorry,” Parker choked out. His face was wet with tears. “What happened?” I asked, my heart hammering in my chest. My blood ran cold when I saw Belle’s torn shirt. Her clothes were covered in blood, and gashes peeked out through her shredded clothing. They were claw marks. The claw marks of a wolf. “Here, give her to me,” a male voice said. I turned to see Pele. He held out his arms for Belle. Billy’s screams had attracted quite the crowd. Everyone stood by, panicked looks on their faces. “I didn’t mean to,” Parker sobbed, handing over Belle’s lifeless body t
