My Alpha Father's Dark Secret

Our pack has a sacred rule. Every werewolf must bring their future mate to the Shrine of the Moon for testing before bonding. If they emerge unharmed, it proves they're fated mates and destined for a lifetime together. My two younger sisters completed the ritual at twenty and successfully claimed their Alphas. But I'm thirty now, and I'm still single.Because every boyfriend I've taken into the Shrine of the Moon comes out wanting to break up with me. Or worse—wanting to kill me.My new boyfriend, Lucian Nightshade, didn't believe the warnings and insisted on entering the Shrine of the Moon. My father, Damian Grimwood, the pack's Alpha, personally escorted him inside. When they came out, he slammed me to the ground and tried to strangle me.I couldn't understand what was inside that shrine that turned every man who entered it against me so violently. Even worse, I couldn't understand why Damian kept bringing them in when he knew exactly what would happen."You're keeping this disgustin

The lead enforcer gave the command, and his team immediately restrained Damian and my two half-sisters.The Wolf Council Enforcers arrived and started asking questions, but none of them would talk.Damian's face remained cold. "This is our pack's tradition. She agreed to enter the Shrine of the Moon to test for her fated mate. We can't control what happens inside.""Everything is Moon Goddess's will."Liam came with the Wolf Council Enforcers. He was my friend, and when he saw my injuries, his eyes turned red with rage. He lunged forward and grabbed Damian by the collar."She's your own daughter! How could you do this to her? Don't you want an heir? If you kill her, who's gonna inherit your Alpha position? Who's gonna take care of you when you're old? If you don't want this daughter, then stop dragging her back here! You keep bringing her back just to beat her half to death. You're nothing but an animal!"He couldn't understand it either—why Damian wanted to kill me but wouldn't let me

I opened my eyes and blinked hard, trying to shake the images out of my head. It didn't work. They were still there. Damian and Adrian's fists came down again. This time I didn't dodge. Let them hit me. "Just kill me. I shouldn't be alive anyway, and I don't deserve a mate." I closed my eyes. The fists turned into tools, and the pain turned into numbness. "You should've died already! Why are you still alive?" "Go kill yourself and don't make the pack look bad!" Right. I should kill myself. I crawled up from the ground. "I'll do it. Just let me go." They stared at me. "Don't even think about running. The whole pack's watching you, and if we catch you, it'll be worse." Damian added, "And if you run, I'll report you to the Council. They'll hunt you down." I looked at them, and there was nothing left in my eyes. "I don't want to live." After seeing what was in the Shrine of the Moon, I wanted to die right now. But I couldn't die in the shrine. That would defile the Moon Goddess's sacred gr

The room fell silent, and then everyone started shouting at Damian to get me out of there.I felt utterly hopeless. When we got back to the pack territory, they wanted to lock me in the basement. I didn't fight it, but I made one request."Let me watch the Shrine of the Moon surveillance footage one more time. After that, you can do whatever you want with me."They exchanged glances and agreed.Inside the dark Shrine of the Moon, the lights came on, revealing modern surveillance equipment. The camera pointed directly at my room. Damian pulled up the old recordings and hit play.On the monitor, I saw myself sleeping in bed with a boy. After he fell asleep, I quietly slipped out. Half an hour later, I came back with blood all over my hands. I stood by the bed staring at him with empty, hollow eyes. The boy woke up in the middle of the night and saw me standing there. He screamed and said he was calling the Wolf Council Enforcers.I lunged at him and wrapped my hands around his throat. He
